We had really high expectations from this place, especially since it claimed to serve authentic wood-fired pizzas. Starting with the dough - that part was excellent. I'd give it a solid 5 stars; it was soft, well-cooked, and had the right texture. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended.
The sauce on the pizza was incredibly bland. We had ordered the spicy buffalo pizza, but there was absolutely no hint of buffalo sauce. Instead, it had an unpleasant, almost spoiled taste - most likely due to the blue cheese they used, which seemed old and stale. It completely overpowered the pizza and ruined the overall flavour. We had also had chicken as a topping, but the quantity was extremely disappointing - barely any chicken on the entire pizza.
As for the pasta, we tried the chicken Tetrazzini. It lacked the authentic taste we were hoping for - bland, watery, and definitely not the creamy Alfredo-style flavour it should have had.
The chicken wings were another letdown. We went for the “honey jalapeño” flavour, expecting them to be well-coated in sauce, but instead they served the sauce separately on the side. The wings themselves were quite plain and lacked any distinctive taste.
Overall, this place didn’t live up to its promise of authenticity or flavour. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine,...
Read moreAbsolutely disappointed. This was my first (and definitely last) time ordering from Doughbox Pizza. After an exhausting day of packing for an upcoming move, I was looking forward to a warm, comforting meal. What I got was an insult to pizza.
The pizza arrived ice cold. Not warm. Not lukewarm. Cold. And somehow, it managed to be both undercooked and stale at the same time—an impressive failure. The crust was paper-thin and soggy, completely different from what I ordered.
What really blows my mind is this: someone actually pulled this pizza out of the oven, looked at it, and thought, “Yeah, this is a great pizza. Let’s box this up and send it out.” That level of delusion is wild. What a tragic, tragic disappointment.
The pasta? Also cold. And it tasted off—like it had been sitting out too long or was reheated leftovers. Just lazy and careless execution all around.
I spent $50 and got absolutely nothing worth eating. I don’t even know if I should feed it to my dogs or just go straight to the garbage bin. How does a pizza place get everything wrong on an order? No pride in the product, no respect for the customer.
Honestly, you’d be better off picking up a frozen pizza from Zehrs. At least that would be hot, edible, and a fraction of the price.
This establishment should seriously reconsider being in the food business....
Read moreWe had a pizza in this place, and the quality of the food was good for the price.
However, the customer service and the dine in experience was literally horrible. I would give "negative 5 star", if I could. First off, when I stepped into the store, the cashier, was on the phone talking, not paying any attention to me, as a customer, entering the place. After 5 minutes of just waiting there, she hung up on a phone and told me : " Sorry, just resolving some customer issues".....Then, she asked me "what can I get for you?". Then, immediately before I even open my mouth, she started another phone conversation, not respecting my presence at all. All in all, I was just waiting for her for like +15 mins, until she finishes her phone call ....She was also super unfriendly, and to some extent grumpy. Definitely need some education around customer service from her manager.
On top of this, when we finally had the food ready, she was dropping dishes on top of dishes in pizza preparation area, making loud noises, while we were dining in, making our lunch time the most disturbing time of the day.....Again, not respecting our presence at all.
Overall, as mentioned, the customer service and the atmosphere of the place would get negative five from me. If you want to order food, just order it for...
