There is always something special about a quaint neighbourhood mom and pop bakery that leaves an indelible imprint on you. And this was the case as soon as I walked in. Every patron knew the owner and so forth. So in my mind, I had a feeling that the baked goods will be a bonafide hit !!! Yeah :-) COVID protocols are in place because only 4 customers are allowed inside at any given moment. Some reviewers mention that it is small. But I like to think of Ardglen Bakery as cozy compared with say Lazar Bakery. Lazar is a vast expanse by comparison. However, I feel that size takes nothing away from here. This was my first visit. I have seen their sign many times as I travel down the street to my favourite Portuguese chicken restaurant. But I never did stop to check it out until today. Service as friendly and efficient. I really decided upon several items to try because I will definitely be returning. I decided upon: Fresh croissants, Bolo Levedo, Portuguese donut-Malassadas, A Baguette, and some Portuguese dinner rolls ( Papo Secos). A++ experience here.

Service was great, the employee explained every single item to us patiently and let us take our time to decide. Plus, the prices are great. The entire picture below costed less than $12 after tax, which is mind blowing in 2023’s economy. Never been to this place until now, but I’m sure I’ll be back. Everything was delicious and unique too - the pistachio cannoli was unlike anything I’ve had before, and that croissant in the picture had a great apple cinnamon flavour. 5/5 recommend.

These Portuguese and Coconut tarts have the same crunchy and delicate base that is easy to bite into and consume. It’s very light. It is hard to eat just one. The ratio between filling to tart is perfect. Not overly sweet. I highly recommend the coconut tarts. Enjoy!

Lack of basic knowledge and no customer skills. "Barista" if you can call her that did not know how to make basic drinks macchiato confusing that with mocha, espresso etc. Did not speak good English and did not understand instructions, so ended up getting the order completely wrong. She did not offer to remake it either but did apologize. Unfortunately the staff isn't the greatest but if they stepped up their game and provided proper training this place could be a nice little bakery that people would enjoy around the whole...
