Been doing takeout here since it opened. Have has issues every time, from long waits (at least 30 mins to get my order every time I'e been), to payment system being down (wouldn' take my card & had to pay cash), to incorrect order (got home & I was missing items). I figured they were just "growing pains" from a new location (just opened, staff being trained, etc.), so I kept my patience and I kept going back 'cause it's the closest location to my work.
Today, tho... I have to say, I've had enough. I just became a new mom, so time that the little one can stay in the stroller is limited. Ordered online at 3pm for a 4:05 pickup. Got there at 4:05, and nobody was at the takeout counter. Waited 10 minutes for someone to come from the back to ask if I'd been helped (no). She helped me ring up my order, then disappeared into the back before I finished paying & didn't even give me my receipt. Waited another 10 mins, someone else came out, asked if I'd been helped. I said "yes, that's my receipt". She gave it to me, then she disappeared. 5 mins later, she returns to say they're out of white meat chicken (uh... at a Swiss Chalet?), and would I mind taking an extra 2 legs. There's a woman behind me who ordered the same as me, and she goes, "You're Swiss Chalet... how do you run out of chicken?!" (I'm thinkin' it, she says it!). She refuses the substitution & cancels her order. Server asks me if I want to cancel too (huh?).
Now - internal monologue here, I'm thinking: "Geez, I ordered ahead of time so I wouldn't have to wait, and I've now waited 25 mins (with a fussy 3-month old baby)... I could care less if the chicken is white or dark meat. Just give me my food!" I say, no, I'm not cancelling my order, sure I'll take the sub.
She then disappears again and I stand there, trying to hush my very fussy baby, who it seems is just as displeased with the wait as I am. After another 10 mins go by, someone finally comes out of the back with my food. At least, on the upside (if there is one), it was the correct order this time & they hadn't forgotten anything (from my past experiences, I've learned to check before I leave).
So, yeah. I mean, 35 extra minutes for a pre-ordered meal, and they run out of their signature item??? This location's been open a while now, so this isn' new management/new opening jitters... this is systemic incompetence and disorganization at its finest. After this last fiasco, it'll take some serious convincing for...
Read moreDO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION! While visiting Brampton yesterday evening from our of town we wanted to grab some take out before we hit the road. We ordered online, nice and easy, fingers with salad for my daughters and fingers with fries for my wife and I. It said 14 minutes, perfect I thought. After the 14 minutes was up I noticed that the food was still cooking according to the app, so I waited up to 20 minutes and then went into the store as the app said my food was almost done and close to "ready to pick up." I went into the store and to pick up my order and was told it would be ready soon. After about 10 minutes (30 minutes from the time I place the order) , a staff member came out and placed a couple bags behind the cashier and walked away without communicating who they were for. The bags say for more than 5 minutes and the cashier went back and forth from the kitchen to deliver other patrons their food. I started to get suspicious about those two bags on the counter so I moved up and peaked at the receipt where I saw my name. After another few minutes I finally got another staff's attention and said, "I think that's my food that's been sitting there for several minutes now." She gave me my food, with no apology and beck to the car I went to make sure that the food was all there. The food was all there but there was mashed potatoes (or squashed french fries) all over the boxes and they failed to put forks in the bags for my daughters salads, so back into the store I go so my girls could eat their salads. After another several minutes of trying to get a staff member's attention I got the forks and back to the car. Unfortunately, by now the food is room temperature at best, so my wife and I decided to wait the hour long ride home to reheat the food at our house. What an absolute debacle. I myself have been I'm food service for over 25 years so I fully understand being busy, but this was unacceptably poor service and unacceptable. I really hope someone Swiss Chalet's corporate quality assurance sees this post and addresses this, or the location WILL lose thousands due to the...
Read moreThis is the second time this year that we have ordered pickup from this location via the Swiss Chalet app. The last time I completed a review through their Swiss Chalet Feedback site and this time I will be giving a review both here and the feedback site. I guess this location of Swiss Chalet is also taking part in shrinkflation. We ordered the two quarter chicken meal deal, chicken tender meal and appetizers. Our entire meal was a disappointment. The quarter chickens were small, they mixed up the sides for one of the quarter chicken meals and the chicken tender meal, the perogies used to come with a bigger container of Cajun dip for seven perogies and now the containers are so tiny; we ordered two orders of this appetizer and got two tiny dip containers, and the apple pie dessert was soo butchered that it looked like someone ate the top crust.
My family members are not huge fans of the chalet sauce and prefer ketchup but for our entire meal we only got two packets of ketchup… it is ridiculous that the app doesn’t allow customers to order more than one ketchup packet so I guess I was lucky we got two for our meals. It would have been nice if the employee packing the order used better judgement and at least stuck more in the bag by looking at the size of the order. I can’t believe they expected two packets to cover two quarter chicken meals, chicken tenders, and fries… what a joke.
The previous Hurontario location was so much better, this new location has been a big disappointment this year, when it first opened it was fine so don’t know what is going...
