Read moreI went to Red Lobster last week Thursday at around 5:15pm to get a quick bite before a 6pm appointment nearby. I was seated promptly but then I believe they may have forgotten about me because no one came to my table for 15 minutes after that (90% of the tables were available..meaning it wasn't very busy at the time). Finally a server came by (I believe her name is Merna) and introduced herself and if she could start my meal off with something to drink. I asked for a water. I also mentioned if it would be possible to get my meal to go instead because I had been waiting for a while as no servers had come by. She was suuuper apologetic and so sweet about it that I almost felt bad mentioning anything. She said she would get my water and some biscuits. She was back in less than 5 minutes with both and brought a small Caesar salad. She asked if I ate Caeser salad and I said yes. She offered it to me as a good will gesture for the long wait which I thought was awesome customer service. She then asked if I knew what I would like to order and I said the popcorn shrimp (the menu said it was a new item so I wanted to try it) and I asked if I could have it to go. She said if I wished to dine-in that I would have enough time to do so as she would have it out to me in less than five minutes. I said if not can you please put it in a take out container. I kid you not, Merna was at my table in less than 5 minutes with fresh, crispy popcorn shrimp and she brought a take out container too in case I couldn't finish it (which I didnt..it was a really decent sized portion). As soon as I was done she came over with the interac machine, I paid, was out of there and at my appointment with 2 minutes to spare. I was EXTREMELY impressed by how Merna handled the situation and how quickly she brought the meal. She was also super pleasant and professional which, in my book, counts for a lot nowadays and why I wanted her to be recognized for her work. Every restaurant needs a Merna and hopefully she's my server the next time...
Read moreThe lobster was fresh, succulent and juicy. It wasn’t overcooked. It was salty enough to not need any dipping sauce. The salmon was good, it also wasn’t overcooked, it was grilled, seasoned well enough.
The biscuits which were served as the bread basket were very good as they came in piping hot, crispy on the outside, moist and airy as you bite into it. Calorie wise, I’m sure it was deadly but taste wise, it was quite delicious. It’s addictive!
The Alfredo pasta side dish had 6 shrimps which was quite generous. The Alfredo pasta was strangely sweet, unlike any other Alfredo pasta I’ve ever eaten anywhere else, not to my palate’s liking to have sweet Alfredo pasta but maybe their customer base likes sweet creamy shrimp pasta.
The rest was mostly fried food, after all this is a North American fast food chain, it is to be expected. The lightly battered deep fried food met the expectations pretty well.
The chocolate cake was served warm and it was delicious, better than I had expected. The cheesecake was also quite good.
Atmosphere - noisy but that’s to be expected in a fast food restaurant. Basic furniture and furnishings.
Service was excellent. The staff had a birthday cake slice with a candle for our friend’s birthday which we were celebrating at Red Lobster and the server also sang, the gesture was appreciated 100%.
Food came out warm but not everyone got their food at the same time, so by the time the rest of the dishes were served and completed, the others had lukewarm dishes. Again, it’s a casual fast food joint, the expectations should be lowered.
Price wise, it was reasonable enough considering there’s overhead costs, not just the price of the meal. The ultimate feast for example, was $54. It was enough for one hungry person or 2 people with regular appetites.
Would I return? For the biscuits yes, for the seafood and pasta,...
