Chicko Chicken New Westminster Skytrain — Restaurant in British Columbia

The chicken always tastes great. Super consistent and the price is better than most places. The customer service however, is not as consistent. Although the manager did give us an extra pop because they didn't have radish- this has extended for the past few months and they haven't had radish for at least 3+ months. The radish is definitely a staple to Korean fried chicken. Their other locations have radish so I'm not sure what's going on. One time, we tried calling in to order and the person at the front answered and then hung up on us. When we proceeded to call back, the line was busy for over 10 minutes. It's almost as if they left the phone off the hook and avoid phone calls.

We love the chicken here so we kept trying. We ended up having to drive there and order in person.

Recently, I phoned and ordered a full order of chicken. When we got there, we only had a half order and they couldn't make any more since the kitchen had closed. We had to buy subway in order to fullfil our stomaches. There is quite a difference in the amount of chicken in the half vs. full order and you get a better deal too. We were very disappointed as we had been looking forward to it. If you're looking for great Korean fried chicken but inconsistent...

If you don't like sweet food, go away from this shop. Everything is so sweet. Firstly, I brought half and half of cheese and buldak flavor. Even the cheese flavor, It is still a little bit sweet, and buldak flavor is supper sweet but not spicy at all.

Then, I tried a second chance with soygarlic and Heak Buldak. Both make me disappointed. It's all still sweet, even soy garlic flavor, which is supposed to be salty more than sweet. Heak buldak also super sweet more than spicy.

All flavors like fried chicken coated with caramel. I'm not sure if I will be back to try something else.

Ps. Last time, I ordered sauce on the side, but they already mixed the sauce for me. I didn't get it...

Ordered half of “haek buldak” but did not get the free pickled radish as advertised! Maybe that’s discontinued. Quantity was pretty good. I couldn’t finish my half order in one go. I like that it’s freshly cooked even though you have to wait 20 mins.

As far as the chicken is concerned, I was craving something extremely spicy and haek buldak did deliver. What I did not expect were some sweet tones in the sauce along with the spicy ones. Can’t say I liked that much, I was looking for something just spicy in a non-sweet way. The chicken was nice and tender. Would go again to try some...
