There's a lot of construction along the water front with the building of the 2 new 50ish story Bosa high rises but this park is still a great vantage point from which to watch the Fraser river activities such as tugs applying their trade or drift wood floating downstream, or even upstream at high tide, as well as the odd harbor seal and sea gulls moving about. There are lots of piers here that hang over the river as well as chairs and benches that allow you just sit watch things float by. Really, the walk along this stretch could be done in 20 minutes or less but the main aspect of the park is about just being there. There are washrooms near the concession stand, which are open nice long hours. The concession stand, I dont think I've seen it in business yet. There are volley ball courts and patches of grass and apparatuses for kids to climb on and historic local photo collages there as well to enjoy by all for free. Parking... is not free but reasonable. Since really the only 2 ways to get here is by crossing over the train tracks on a causeway at end of 4th or by walking across the tracks at the end of 8th ave. The one at 8th is messed up with the previously mentioned construction activities but still do-able, but not my first choice. This walk is not like the Westminster quay board walk in the sense that there are no pubs and restaurants and shops. There is even an elevator that runs weird hours maybe 11am- 4pm (?) Which makes this a wheel chair accessible park from either entrance point. The park...
