For a coffee place that calls themselves Craft Cafe, they managed to make the blandest latte I've ever had. There was mostly milk in that thing, and maybe a shot of drip coffee instead of espresso. Bad, and definitely not worth the money.
The drip coffee was better, but nothing that I would expect from a place that prides themselves on their coffee. Just average.
Moving on to food, the buffalo chicken mac and cheese tasted like K&D with some extra butter and Frank's Hot Sauce. The macaroni was too firm and the overall dish was very greasy. Even after cooling down, the macaroni were not sticking to each other, so whatever powdered industrial mac & cheese concoction this is, for the price, you are not getting any good ingredients. The chicken was also very soft and texture less, like tofu. Like it came from one of those bags where you just add boiling water to cook instant meals. Meh.
At $15 before tax for that mac and cheese, I'm not quite sure what they are thinking. At least enhance it somehow, those slices of spring onion on top to make it seem "fancy" are quite silly. I don't know, throw some parmesan and mozzarella on top, oven bake it, use better pasta and real cheese, marinade and grill that chicken, throw in some spices and make it a smaller portion, then you can justify this ridiculous price and the time it takes to make it.
Also had the Spicy Italian grilled cheese sandwich. Greasy, cheap salami, mediocre bread, and flavorless cheese. You say there were 4 cheeses in there? Doubt it. Tasted very bland. Also very expensive for what you get. I don't understand why people rave about this place. Shop is also small and the self-service, the time it takes to take simple orders, combined with the time it takes to get very simple yet expensive food made for a bad experience. Oh, and they ask for tips too, even before you self-serve your food. Regret...
Read moreCraft Cafe is not only set in a beautiful location with stunning waterfront views, but the experience goes far beyond that. After enjoying a meal or drink, you can take a peaceful stroll along Quayside. The drinks, both hot and cold, are of outstanding quality—especially the matcha latte, which stands out from anything I've tasted elsewhere. What really sets this cafe apart is the staff. They are incredibly welcoming, patient, and show a genuine interest in making sure everything is just the way you like it. In all my time visiting cafes in Vancouver, I haven’t encountered a team as attentive and caring as this one. Every visit feels personal, with friendly greetings and familiar smiles, as if you’re visiting family. Even after a break between visits, walking back in reminds me how much I missed the warm, cozy atmosphere that perfectly balances comfort and personal space. After a few visits, you start seeing familiar faces because it’s impossible not to want to return. The staff manage to create an environment that feels both welcoming and professional, and they do it effortlessly. It’s clear that the management is top-notch, which is no surprise given that Craft Cafe has been voted the best cafe bar in New Westminster (I spotted the certificate proudly displayed in the cafe). The seasonal drinks, freshly baked goods, and healthy options only add to the charm. The atmosphere is peaceful, the music calming, and the overall experience is unforgettable. As someone who’s very particular about cafes, Craft Cafe has become my favorite, not just because of the amazing food and drinks, but for the the comforting, welcoming environment the staff cultivate with their warm and...
Read moreLOVE this coffee shop! My husband and I came here twice. We tried their latte and hot chocolate (dark chocolate) the first time. We just loved them so much especially the dark hot chocolate. We had tried hot chocolate from Thomas Haas many times. Finally we have found one coffee shop (this Craft Cafe) that can beat or can be competitive with Thomas Haas!!! Craft Cafe’s hot chocolate tastes sooooo good that it is very smooth, thick and full of texture. The sweetness is exactly when we love.
After visiting Craft Cafe once, we decided to come back here to try their breakfast and coffee. We ordered their sausage roll, drip coffee (Brazil coffee beans), signature breakfast (which had two eggs, waffle, sausage, bacon, potatoes, a strawberry and some avocado) and dark hot chocolate (again!!! 😊). We were so happy and satisfied with the breakfast abs beverages.
A barista was very nice that she made two small cups of drip coffee for us to try (Mexican coffee beans). We liked the Brazilian ones more. But we just enjoyed our time having breakfast and coffee here.
The pricing was reasonable. Customer service was great. The coffee shop is full of different types of special coffee beans and tea that you can’t really find them elsewhere.
It’s a bit of difficult to look for parking spots. We paid parking in a parking lot with Safeway, Cinema, Shopper drugs Mart and etc. There are some retail parking installs in front of the cafe, but still need to pay for parking.
Would I come back again?! Yes!! But maybe I will take skytrain to come here, so it’s more convenient that I don’t have to worry about...
