This place is underrated. For fast-food Chinese, they are great! There should be a lineup out the door here at lunchtime, but with hardly anyone working in the nearby offices now, they are receiving as many customers as they used to. When you have a craving for Chinese food at lunch in this area, give them a try. My personal favourite is their Szechuan chicken. Lunch specials come with fried rice, but you can request steamed white rice instead if you prefer. You could also request noodles, (might have a nominal charge for noodles). All made to order. The meals are packaged in plastic containers, which can be taken home and reused, (free Tupperware). Prices are reasonable and a lunch special is more than enough for one person.

Great flavor and texture but they are so stingy with the protein portions! I paid $15 for this lunch plate which only had a few super thin slivers of beef and the rest was basically broccoli, onions, and rice. In the picture it may look a little more voluminous than I'm describing but I only got maybe 5 or 6 super small pieces before all that was left were carbs. I swear I ordered broccoli beef with a side of rice not the other way around lol. Only reasons I'm not rating 2 stars is because the place is very clean and the owners are nice. However not worth the price and I most likely won't return or recommend.

Excellent service! Quick and friendly 😁 The food was actually a bit above acceptable lol which was surprising since I only dropped by because I ran out of random coupons for lunch. The fried rice was fresh and the general tao was alright. Definitely not the best but edible. Would actually return if I absolutely have nothing else to eat in the area.

Decided to leave a review after my second visit.

First visit I was hungry and had a hankering for fried dumplings. While I was there, I asked the cashier if they could make mapo tofu (one of my favourites). She enthusiastically replied that their chef could make a great mapo tofu... Made a mental note to give it a chance at some point.

It feels like it has been several months since my dumpling visit. Anyway, I decided to try the mapo tofu. I wasn't disappointed. I have tried many and have been frequently disappointed by overseasoning, too much salt, too dark, too spicy, wrong texture, pork shredded and not minced. I was pleased to find that my taste for good mapo tofu was aligned with the chef at China Star. His mapo tofu was delicate, finely seasoned, not oily and generally very tasty.

I haven't tried enough of their dishes but I will say I certainly enjoyed their mapo tofu and will definitely order it again. If you like mapo tofu, give it a try and see if our...

Ordered take out from here for the first time as it was near the movie theatre where we had just caught a show. Had the General tso chicken, sweet and sour chicken and Singapore noodles. The general tso chicken was average at best. Not a lot of flavour. The Singapore noodles were a bit to mild and not enough chicken and vegetables for my liking. Mostly all noodles. And the sweet and sour sauce was not that tasty. The food was lukewarm by the time we got home to eat it about five minutes after picking it up. I would say it's average Chinese food at best with average prices. Doubt I would order from this...
