Montfort Mediterranean Grill - Burloak — Restaurant in Burlington

I've been to other Montforts before but this was my first time dining at the Burloak location.

Had dinner here with my son last Friday and it was his first visit to a Montfort. Our server greeted us warmly when we arrived and took care of us the entire time. The dining area is very warm and cozy, nice Mediteranean ambience with comfortable booths.

I started with a nice craft beer that tasted great and was served ice cold. We shared the shrimp appetizer and the Mixed Grill for one with fries(you can choose fries, homefries or rice) and uprgraded to Fatoush salad. My son really enjoyed the shrimp. The mixed grill was amazing! The fatoush was one of the best salads I have ever tasted. Fresh ingredients, crunchy pitas, and a homemade dressing that is delicious. And the meats and fries were served in generous portions and all were absolutely mouth-watering! My son really enjoyed his first visit to Montfort and I really enjoyed my meal and the dining experience here. There was even enough leftover for the next day and it tasted fantastic.

If you have never been to Montfort before I would recommend the mixed grill as it gives you a good sample of many of their signatrue dishses like Montfort Chicken, shawarma and kafta to name a few. It's also a very large serving, hence the cost, but a mixed grill for one can feed two average people, perhaps with an appetizer, as it did for us. A family of three could go with the Mixed Grill for 2.

I visited this location with my sisters this past Thursday to have a nice meal rather than grabbing fast food. We had their take out before and liked it. Google said the restaurant closes at 10pm and when we got there it was about 8:50 pm. Upon entering we noticed there were no other diners, and the only server working immediately responded to our greeting by telling us they “close in about half an hour”. Understanding she probably meant the kitchen closing, we reassured her we already knew what we wanted to eat and were going to be quick. She did not ask us to have a seat and instead pointed to a menu and said to let us know what we wanted. We sat down at a nearby table and she came over, with no greeting or asking about what we wanted to drink. I asked if we were to just to order drinks, and she responded with “well, everything. Since we are closing in 30 minutes” she then went on to repeat they are closing soon many times and seemed bothered by our presence. Feeling unwelcomed, my group and I closed the menus and decided to just leave. Even after us making a comment on being rushed, the server was quick to let us go and did not apologize. Our experience was unacceptable, and we will not be dining there again nor recommending to any family or friends. Last week, we started renovating our kitchen which meant finding closeby restaurants for take out. We knew this restaurant was close to where we live but over 10 years ago, we had tried it but the food was terrible. I said to my husband, let’s give it another try maybe it will be different! I’m so so glad we did, the food was excellent. We ordered the Kofta dinner. Meat is very flavourful and portions are good.

We ordered again a couple of days after that & tried their Lamb Shashlik which was equally as good. They sure didn’t disappoint! We found out that lucky for us, Monfort Burloak changed hands a couple of years ago which is why the food is awesome now.

This just became our new favourite place to order from. We haven’t experienced sitting in the dining room for dinner yet as it’s been only take out for us but every time my Irish husband, who now loves Middle Eastern food, goes to pick up the food, they are very nice & welcoming to him . Long story but worth writing for sure! great food and wonderful service. Thank you for such a great experience. We still have about 2 more weeks before our kitchen is ready so I’m sure you will see more of us…
