âââââ I walked into Coffee Culture in Burlington intending to leave a 5-star review â but what happened made me change my mind, even before I had a chance to order. There were a few people ahead of me in line, and two employees were working, both very slowly. One of them seemed inexperienced, which was surprising for a busy Sunday â youâd expect the store to be better staffed and prepared.
After waiting quite a while, I finally got to the front of the line and waited another 2â3 minutes while the cashier was assisting the other employee. Suddenly, a girl walked in from outside the line, stood to the side of the counter, spoke to the cashier in a language other than English, and asked for something â which he prepared for her immediately, completely ignoring everyone else who had been patiently waiting.
At first, I thought she was an employee since she was dressed in black. But when he handed her the drink, she gave him her credit card to pay â clearly, she was just a customer who skipped the line.
Only then did the cashier turn to me, without saying âsorry for the waitâ or even âthank you for your patience.â He looked at me like nothing had happened. I told him this was unacceptable â he skipped the line and made me wait without an apology â and that I would be leaving a 1-star review. I still asked to order my coffee and pay, but he refused to charge me.
I asked several times, offering to pay, but he kept refusing. I told him I donât want a free coffee just because he didnât treat people with fairness. Either he takes the money, or Iâm not interested. He still refused, so I left.
My message to the management: Please train your staff to respect customers, respect the queue, and treat everyone equally. Ignoring people who are waiting just because a friend or someone familiar shows up is unfair and...
Read moreFood is alright, but not worth the price. The point of higher prices for a place like this is so you can expect higher quality experience. Unfortunately, come in anytime after 7pm and the service is just terrible.
-The workers are inattentive, and annoyingly do not seem to really pay attention to you as a CUSTOMER. You're talking to them, and they're thinking about something else. Does not make you feel very welcomed. Moreover, they even have the luxury to have a conversation with each other while you're waiting there to pay.
-Came in once at 9pm and you can tell the staff is already pre-closing even though they're open til 11. They don't even give you real plates or utensils, but instead serves food in styrofoam and plastic cups. Again, this isn't such a big deal at any other place, but if you're charging me almost $10 for a drink and cake, I'm expecting ambiance and quality. Pls serve things on real plates. Even more, as we were still sitting and talking, a worker comes to mop the floors and is cleaning as if we're not even there--He gets so close to us, he almost hits our feet with the mop.
-Ordered a cake, and not only was it the wrong one, but it was really cold and stiff, as if they just defrosted it in the last hour, or it was meant to be served tomorrow.
Again, taken together, these things should not bother me so much, but as someone who's been a customer at this location for almost 6 years, I just hate how much this place has changed with new management. I'm bothered because I know this place used to be great. The past year and a bit of me coming has made me want to come less and less. I've been giving this place a chance, and holding off a writing a review, but this is getting ridiculous. Management needs to raise their expectations. Train your staff to be...
Read moreI used to love this place, and honestly I hate leaving it a low review because so many places have been closing down lately. But Iâve given it many chances and hopefully someone actually giving them feedback will wake them up. Today my son and I visited for brunch. He got the English muffin breakfast sandwich. He took a bite and told me it was cold, I felt it and the patty was cooked but the egg was freezing. I took it back and let them know. After about 15 seconds it was handed back to me. I guessed she had just warmed one and gave me a new egg. Unfortunately, that was not the case as when I got back to my son the egg was still cold. Was it like a 15 second microwave warm up? I donât know. So I took it back again and attempted to show her that it was still cold, I could touch the egg with my fingers. She took it and handed it back to me. I was hoping she would at least make him a new one, but now she handed back his same English muffin, but this time now the cheese was all on one side as she had taken it apart to put a new egg on it, But didnât put it back together with any care. I was really calm in the situation and I asked very politely for it to be corrected so I donât understand why the staff refuses to give proper customer service. Overall, the customer service has gone down in the last few months. Iâve had curdled Cold foam in my drink, wrong orders given to me and most of the time the staff look annoyed while serving you. I used to like coming in here, they actually have nice atmosphere and lots of seating, but unfortunately that is not enough to keep me...
