The vibe is chill and cool. Love the comfy booth seating that comes with a bell to ring for service anytime as well as a little tv screen playing Korean music videos. The decor is great as well.
We went with the ayce option and have no regrets and would recommend it. We were surprised by how good the meat quality was. The pork we tried tasted rich with nice meaty flavour. The beef brisket was also tender, beefy, and juicy. The charcoal beef was lean. The beef bulgogi was delicious! The boiled beef tendon was done super well such that the tendon was soft and not too bouncy. The beef tartare was fresh but marinated predominantly with a flavour of sesame oil so if you’re not into sesame oil, skip it, but if you’re into sesame oil, then this is for you.
Was impressed by the sides as well. The pickled radish was thinly cut so you could use it to wrap the meat and so refreshing, it’s a bonus its ayce and you can have as many sides as you want. The Kimchi was standard, and the bean sprouts and salad all had predominant sesame oil flavour so great for the sesame lovers but avoid for the non sesame lovers.
The ayce menu essentially had most non grilling meat mains as well such as rice cake and sausage skewers which were sooo good and fun to eat (highly recommend this one), fried vegetable and meat fritters, pork cutlet, miso ramen and jajangmyeon, glazed fried pork dishes, Tteok bokki, and much more. They also have assorted Korean fried boneless chicken but we found this very average and would skip it.
The service was excellent, prompt, and very supportive with staff happily bringing as much food as you want. They also have chocolate covered vanilla ice cream bars for dessert at the end which you can order as much as you want of.
Essentially, it’s ayce but you order from an iPad a la carte and the majority of the items tasted just as good with great quality as if not from an ayce Korean bbq restaurant. Everything was amazing except the Korean fried chicken but it’s not really a Korean fried chicken place anyways. You do need to finish your food as over 100g leftovers will be charged. The portions of the dishes are as you would expect for a la carte ordering, so pretty large. A pro tip is you can order fresh sliced garlic too but it’s not written on the menu so just ask your server for this. Can’t complain for ayce at around $45.00 as it’s an endless meat and side and main fest and getting this amount of variety a la carte would cost way more. It’s also a fun and interactive dining experience to be able to cook your own meat. Would recommend for...
Read moreIf you're searching for an unforgettable Korean barbecue experience, look no further than Arisu Korean BBQ. From the moment you walk through the doors, you are welcomed by the rich aromas of sizzling meats and the warm, inviting atmosphere that sets the perfect tone for a memorable dining adventure.
The interior is modern yet cozy, with beautifully designed wooden booths and grill tables that create an authentic, communal dining experience. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned KBBQ lover, the staff is incredibly attentive and friendly, always happy to walk you through the menu or offer suggestions.
One added convenience is the iPad ordering system, which makes selecting your meats, side dishes, and beverages quick and seamless. With a few taps, your order is sent straight to the kitchen, eliminating the wait for a server and allowing you to fully focus on grilling and enjoying the meal.
However, one thing that made the experience slightly uncomfortable was the lack of air conditioning. With the heat from the grills and the warm weather outside, the dining area did feel a bit stuffy, especially as the meal went on. It’s something to be aware of, particularly on hotter days.
But the true star of the show is the food. The variety of meats available is impressive—tender cuts of beef, pork belly, and marinated chicken, all of which are perfectly seasoned and cooked to your liking right at the table. The quality of the ingredients is second to none, with the meats bursting with flavor and freshness.
The only downside to Arisu is the limited lunch menu, which doesn’t offer the same expansive selection available at dinner. While the quality remains top-notch, those hoping for a full Korean barbecue experience during lunch hours may find the options a bit restricted.
Despite these small drawbacks, Arisu Korean BBQ offers a fantastic dining experience, with fresh, flavorful meats, interactive grilling, and a modern touch with its iPad ordering system. Just be sure to plan your visit for dinner or cooler days to fully...
Read moreI first eat here 9 months ago. Price is high but service , quality of food is good . Satisfied. Eat here yesterday! My god! They change owner ? 1: my family eat at 6 pm. Only 2 tables of customers. They still gave us a 4 person booth for a 6 persons family …. 2: service is way below standard. Stuffs keep coming , no more space on the table . It is me who spotted a small foldable table around . I took it and out the finished plates there ….. 3: I am not 100% firm : they locked the bbq switch that only gave out a very small fire . I tried to turn it , it is locked to the very low level. The end ? All the meat are kind of warmly cooked rather than grill . I never experienced a Korean bbq where I don’t need to change the grill the whole dinner !
I am not a person like to burn everything to dark , I more often will turn down the fire where too hot the grill , as it just create huge smoke and more burned meat
This time ?
I am thinking : it will be even better I go home and fry some meat by myself ! At least I can choose how well I like the meat to be cooked.
3: side dish refill: they gave us refill, only that they bring our empty plate to refill. Is it supposed to give a refill with a clean plate ? For the consideration of hygiene.
From the short of service, I guessed they are experiencing under-staff But ? As I said , Thursday is not a busy night. Lots of empty tables, Even cannot provide the minimum service to take away the finished plates to make space for coming dishes ?
Re-use of side dishes Limited the grill switch …. They want to save cost ?
Sad to see a close by originally so good Korea bbq place dropped to this level only after several month.
Business is very competitive! Kook at 1st Ave Many others along Kingsway. They have a reason to keep having long waiting time or fully booked
Good luck, Arisu...
