My girlfriend and I went here because of the hype of the reviews. Idk why everyone here were overly rating it so high. I tried 3 orders of their sushi rolls and were met with a disappointment. The rice in the sushi was so soaked (could be from too much rice vinegar or too much water when cooking rice) but anyway it were very mushy rolls and the taste was just okay. The miso soup was so bland and the takoyaki batter was way too thick that it was more mushy inside.

Another part was the server kept insisting to try the oni sashimi (sea urchin) that were only 3 pieces of a price of $15, so my girlfriend and I ordered and took a small bite of one and didn’t finish the rest. $15 gone. I like sashimi but tbh oni isn’t for everyone. Please remember to be careful with your recommendations to your customers.

We were sat by the window and were met with a few flies that kept landing on our food. I tried waving off the flies and they won’t go. Idk what the restaurant can do to prevent this from happening but it wasn’t fun to kill a fly on my sushi.

Our overall experience at the moment, if we were to compare this place to other sushi places in the area like sushi modo or sushi on, they all have similar pricing but this place was definitely not worth it. Maybe I’ll come back and try it again to be sure about my review but unfortunately this is where I stand with this place. Food is a solid 2.5 star but I gave 3 because of the atmosphere and the friendliness of the...

I was driving by and saw a new Japanese restaurant with a soft opening sign so I went home to grab my wife and son and came back to check it out. The waitress told us it was formaly the Y Sushi but redid the inside, got a new chef, menu and I believe a new owner. My wife ordered the lunch chicken teriyaki bento box ($17.95) It was a pretty big portion and the tempura veggies and prawn was nice and crispy. She noticed the salad didn't have any dressing on it but when we told the waitress she quickly brought a side of dressing, which was delicious. My 5 year old ate some of here chicken and rice which he polished off. He also ate most of her fruit salad. Now that I look at the menu it says it was supposed to come with miso soup but we didn't receive any. At most sushi restaurants I usually look at the special rolls but I don't order then because I can get 3 normal rolls for the price of one special roll. Here I saw the "Watashi Special One Meter Roll Combo for 2" that has 2 pieces each of 9 different special rolls and 4 pieces of oshi ($28.95) It had a great presentation and every rolls was perfect, my son really loved the pineapple and mango on top of topical rolls but didn't enjoy tasting the decritive dandelion on the side, which he quickly spat out. Over all, it was a great meal with friendly staff and nice,...

FANTASTIC new place to visit Edmonds St!‼️‼️✅️✅️✅️✅️ This restaurant makes the BEST SUSHI-NO doubt about it- like NONE we have had in ALL of our visits ANYwhere over years! The rice is even tasty of itself...NOT like most places around even, where often you feel like all you are eating IS cold rice after a few mouthfuls. The flavours are incredible here😃✅️✅️. SO different from the usual🤔.Presentation is FANTASTIC as well- with little edible flowers on salads, edible gold decorations, small sprigs of herbs, etc.✅️✅️🤗 This time we had a terrific 1 meter long Watashi Special Roll Combo for 2. It has Chef choice of 9 kinds of special roll and Oshi- 2 pieces each- of many flavoured rolls- like nothing we've EVER tasted anywhere else. WELL worth trying! Prices -VERY reasonable. Quality IS noticeably wonderful! Very clean place-such nice waitresses as well. The owner even comes out to greet people. They have Doordash, Uber now- and will soon have Skip the Dishes. It's WONDERFUL-menu choices are many-and- in my pictures you can see that it is all beautifully presented. (Our metre long roll was in the box for take out) We've also had great house miso soup, Dynamite roll, Oshiko roll, Chicken teryiaki🤯! Excellent‼️Once again-a VERY happy find✅️✅️You will NOT likely be disappointed...

I recently moved to Edmonds and had to try Watashi Sushi & Kitchen to see if it could become my local go-to sushi stop. After eating there, though, I have mixed feelings. The bad part was the rice, which is sad, as that is the main component of any good sushi, and really sets the tone of anything that it is paired with. It was heavily overly seasoned with vinegar, and the texture of the rice was very compact, which is often a result of it not being made recently or sitting out for too long. The portion size was also too large on the nigiri, which needed to be a bit smaller to be comfortable to eat. The good parts, fortunately, were everything else. The presentation of the sushi was excellent. The atmosphere was playful and vibrant. The pricing was excellent. The staff were attentive and welcoming, and the fish tasted delicious! With both parts of my review in mind, I intend to give Watashi Sushi & Kitchen the benefit of the doubt and return again in the future. Only I hope that the quality of the rice will have improved when I do. If it does, I will definitely be editing my review to match the new quality. I sincerely hope that the chefs take this feedback, as I think this restaurant could be excellent with only a few small adjustments.
