Updated review: It seems that they are now under new owners. They have also renovated the inside now. The prices have increased a little bit due to inflation and also because of renovation costs. We got the sweet Rice twisted donut, tiramisu & Earl Grey donut and the salad croquette. The tiramisu and sesame donut was really light and lots of cream inside. For the price, I think the quality was reasonable. The sweet Rice twisted donut was a bit too sweet and oily for me. The salad croquette was lacking salad and didn't taste as good as the first time. I'm slightly disappointed with the goods I got this time and I'm not sure if I would return next time but if you are looking for a Korean bakery, this is an option.

.

Would rate it a 3.5 but they don't have that option on here. I was desperately looking for the Korean red bean donut after watching too many mukbangs with it and I found it here and also the twisted donut. This bakery is located on the second floor of the Hannam Market plaza. I bought a lot of their buns - coffee cream bun, soboro red bean, sausage bun, red bean donuts, twisted donut, cabbage salad fried croquette and potato croquette. My take from trying all these buns is stick to their savoury items, the sweet ones ie the coffee cream bun and soboro red bean were not my style. The bun was very airy but not soft enough. I loved their potato croquette because of the savoury filling. Although it was very oily I was very satisfied. The red bean fried donut and twisted donut is a classic Korean snack. I liked the ones here because they weren't too sweet and tasted traditional. I would go back to try their cakes because they look cute and the price is not bad.

Tip: get the potato croquette, red bean fried donut and...

This was a pleasant and unexpected find. We stepped in looking to explore the different bakeries in this area and were warmly greeted by a server who upsold us on the filled donuts. We loved the large variety of baked goods and the various choices in filled donuts! The server was absolutely right - not too sweet, light and fluffy, fully filled donuts with light refreshing cream, it left us licking our fingers after and looking forward to trying more flavours in the future. I would recommend one thing though - maybe cover the donuts that are left exposed to customers paying at the counter? There were 3 trays of goods there, uncovered, which people were breathing and talking over and some coughing as well. I wanted to try them but decided against it - didn’t seem very food safe. I will be back for the donuts in the case though! These are hands down 10 times nicer (and more filled) than the donut place in Sapperton that charged over $6 for an empty donut (which was supposed to be filled). My new go-to donut bakery!

Updated review: a recent visit to the bakery was pleasantly met with newly installed covered displays for the fresh rice donuts at the cashier. Thank you for that. Consequently, I purchased a donut from within and was again not disappointed with the freshness, flavour and bouncy chewiness of the sweet rice donut. Also went home with an additional 3...

They tried to charge $12.99 for $6.99 item and tried to get away with it. The male cashier refused to make a correction at first, even though the sign clearly showed $6.99. Only when he was asked multiple times to double check the price, he reluctantly corrected it without saying sorry.

The cashier also charged $5.50 each for a cup of tea when the sign clearly said it's $5.25. Ordered 3 teas, so he overcharged $0.75. When asked for price adjustment, he refused to correct it. When asked another lady to adjust the price, she merely said they forgot to update the sign and refused to give $0.75 back. It may be a small amount but still, they were dishonest and unprofessional. There was no apology.

Their attitude and response proves that they are trying to rip people off on purpose which is unacceptable. It' very sad to see business operating like this.

UPDATE: I saw a review written by another customer from a year ago who had exact same experience. This tells me this fraudulent activity has been going on for more than a year and they have no intention of...

I ordered a 6" assorted cake via online takeout app where it came with a slice of Tiramisu, Black Forest, Plain Cheesecake, Earl Grey, Sweet Potato, and Choco each. The cakes were great and tasted delicious (not too sweet even with all the cream/filling and cakes were soft and light). I had specifically requested to replace the Black Forest slice with any other slice as we have a cherry allergy. When I went to pick up the cake, I also confirmed with the clerk if the Black Forest cake was replaced and she read off the note from the box that it was. However, when we served the cake at the party, the Black Forest piece was still there. We initially thought maybe the shop just made it look the same, but we checked the filling and it still had cherries in it. Luckily the people that had the allergy avoided the piece. I recommend for any special instructions to just call the shop directly to order. It was still fun to try out the different flavours, and I would go back despite of this hiccup.

This place is way too overrated. Strawberry cake has barely any strawberry inside and they sold the cake with the handprint. The cake box was clean so it did not happen during moving. The cake was cheaply made but only the price is premium. Cream was not evenly spread and the surface of cake is not smooth due to baker's poor skill. The size of this handprinted cake was probably only 6" or 7" and they charge $35. They charge extra $2 for lettering on cake. Their staff were not wearing masks properly just covering half of their mouth only. I will never go back to this place. My first visit was a terrible experience. If you want a strawberry cake, go to Mason Mori. It's just located downstairs.
