Maison Mori — Restaurant in Burnaby

(Edit) I am adding the 5th star as they seem like they have upped their game in baking. They seem to use high quality and healthy ingredients and I haven't found similar product any where else. Other bakeries I've been to just don't have the kind of bread and quality this place has. I highly recommend trying their chestnut bread, mocha mochi bread and their loaves. I hope this place keeps up their quality and stay in business for a long time.

(Previous review was 4 stars) this place was hard to find, tucked away in the corner of a plaza adjacent to hannam market. We went around 1pm on Thursday and already they were out of a lot of their stuff. I’m not sure if it’s because of Covid, but they didn’t have any cakes/roll cakes. I wanted to try their mochi but they were out as well. We got a soboro chestnut bread, chocolate bread (ganache was divine!) and a chestnut bun. costed me little over $11. They ALL exceeded my expectations and I can’t wait to go back and try others. It would be a good idea to call and order in advance. There’s another bakery in the same plaza and if I were to compare them, Mr. Paris bakery is good, but taste factory-made and maison mori taste...

Maison Mori’s cakes, bread, and baked goodies never disappoint. This year, I was so sad to find out that they discontinued their grape cake. When I put in a special request for my daughter’s birthday though, the owners were kind enough to fill the order to make the birthday celebration extra special. As expected, the cake was nothing short of perfection -- the bread was not too sweet and pleasantly moist, the cream was lightweight and fresh, and the grapes were huge and delicious. Maison Mori’s service and quality of bread consistently deserve a five-star rating. This bakery has become my go-to and I will be returning again and again.

Best bakery in the lower mainland .. HANDS DOWN! Korean bakery with a unique twist of Japanese flare! It Is the perfect combination of soft and chewy.. not too sweet not too bland!

The price point is a little steep but its definitely worth every penny! I will take some pictures next time and post them up! I have tried almost every type of bread they have here and they never disappointed me! I love the mochi bread, the coffee mochi bread, the condensed milk soft chewy bun and the CHESTNUT LOAF!
