The smell of food smelt great, too bad we didn't get to eat it.
So my family and I were planning to eat together on Friday evening. We ordered and payed at the cashier and got lead to our seats, our table #7. Table was clean, everyone was busy, nothing seemed to foretell the trouble that had begun to brew.
We got our self served drinks, chatted, and watched the curling playing on the tv, until we realize just how long we've been waiting for our food. 1h30min of waiting. The way this restaurant is formed is that the waitress only have to find your table, bring the food to your table, and clean up your table after you've left. So we didn't really think much when no waitress came to check us. Everyone was obviously busy, I even observed the lady who took our order to also work in the kitchen.
Anyways, I went to talk to the, flustered but obviously the, manager (I assume he's the manager). I told him we waited for and 1h30min, he said that he would figure it out, and my dad came and was like "ok" and we went back to our table where we immediately decided to just ask for a refund. So I went back to get a refund. The manager was trying to organize the food receipts of the kitchen. He led me and my dad to the cashier to get the machine to refund us. He said that the next time we chose to eat there, he would give us a free meal, but where's the validity in this if we can't show proof like a coupon or something. It was there that the manager told us what he thinks happened.
Apparently the lady who took our order mistakenly type "17" instead of "7". That's fine, mistakes happen, and she seemed to have been doing 4 different jobs at the same time, so I don't blame her that much. Apparently when OUR food arrived at table 17, they were confused and wondered why they were receiving food they didn't order. The waitress talk to the manager about this mix up. You would think at that point they would try to figure out whose food it belongs to, but no. Instead they gave the "extra food" that table 17 wanted, to them, while putting the stuff they didn't want in a corner in the kitchen, to which I assume a staff took home for dinner. Then it was at the back of their minds, as they were busy.
And you think this was the end, but no. We ended up going to McDonald's to get food cause we were really hungry. Once we arrived home, we check the bank accounts to make sure we got our refund. And apparently the manager doesn't know how to use his machine! No refund was given, and now we have to go back and get our money, this time asking for cash, cause we don't want to fuss around with a machine if the manager doesn't know how to use it.
Personally, I put a lot of the blame for this incident on the poor management. The initial mistake would be the small one of accidentally labeling our table as "17" instead of "7". With what that lady was going through, working on the floor, behind the desk, in the kitchen, and on the phone. I'm not surprised that she would make a mistake like that. But the worse mistake was that, when the manager is now taking lead, he didn't think about where the extra food might have come from, or at least not alot. They didn't ask the tables with no food what they order, which the manager could have easily done by inconspicuously going up to the tables and asking lead up questions like "how are you enjoying the ambience?" Or something that most people who be lead to think is just a nice manager. Not only that but he doesn't seem to know how to manage the staff very well, have a cashier take care of the order and money taking and phone calls, have front of house manager take care of the receipts and making sure the food goes to the right place, have the cooks cook, the waitress bring food and clean tables, etc. You've already cut the task of having to check up on customers to ensure their drinks are filled by having a self serve.
The manager should either learn from this mistake in whatever way he choose to interpret it as, or change to a more competent manager. Manager's have a big job, learn to be one if...
Read moreI just came from this place. I gave this place 2 chances before, but today was a different level of rudeness and unprofessional manner. There are two managers owners working at this place. Both of them are rude and thinking theyâre feeding people for free. In fact theyâre thinking people will starving without their restaurant. Today my wife and I went there for dinner and after we ordered and seated I went to get our drinks. I found my wife very disappointed when I came back and want to leave. The lady owner came to her while I was away telling her that we cannot set on this table because itâs for 6 people. There was no reservation sign on it and the table beside us with the same size has couple. Few minutes later and while we are waiting because my wife refused to leave the table, she came and said that she asked the manager and he allow us to set on this table LOL. I told her , you donât have to come and tell the customers to leave the table after they have been seated by one of your waitresses. She replay itâs my Resturant and you donât have the right to say that. I told her customer always right and if you blame someone blame your employees and train them well so they know how to seat customers. she just left us and a few minutes we left and we didn't continue our dinner. I am sure these 2 owners know nothing about restaurants and no zero about customer service. They mimic Nandos in North East and downtown but Nandos by far is the best. Don't waste your money in this place and if you want to have a better grill chicken go to Nandos in NE or downtown . I never had any issues in Nandos for years, but this place going to fail...
Read moreWe experienced very bad customer service at this location. The other location in NE is way better.
This location has these rules for everything with worst customer service.
2)Food portions are smaller. Full chicken is not full and large fries are sized as small compared with NE location.
You are only allowed to sit there for 45mins.
If you buy a fountain drink you are allowed to refill only once . NE location does not have this kind of rule and they allow you to refill as many times as you want.
On top of these rules their customer service is the worst. They wont talk in friendly tone. We were three people and they gave us a table of 6 to sit. When they started serving food, a group of 5 customers entered and the lady from staff realized that they needed bigger table for that group so she came to us and made us move to another table which was table for 2 but she put an extra chair on side which blocked the way completely and we had to get up and move the chair after every 2 mins to let others pass.
After this experience I am not going there again or will not recomend...
