COBS Bread — Restaurant in Calgary

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE due to bureaucracy I went here a 7:59 to get bread and they said they had closed their till and that they couldn’t sell to me. I said I am a regular customer please and asked what they would do with all the bread left on the shelf and they said they would donate it to charity. I was shocked as I was hungry tired and just needed bread for my kids and I for the night and I could not be sold bread or given a loaf as charity yet it was to be donated as a bureaucratic gesture to charity. I find such policies appalling and meaningless. If we have to go through bureaucracy to be charitable it does not serve the needy but the affluent and business owners who sit on comfortable seats to pass this decisions. I would think that just for the sake of a good customer service someone would sell me bread or give me bread as a regular customer incentive...

Everyone knows Cobs is an awesome bakery and I won't say much about that because I don't have more words to desceibe it. What really stands out for me is the service provided by their associates. Even with their masks on, you can tell they're greeting you with a cheerful smile. On one occasion, I passed by to get the 6-pack mini cinnamon buns for my pregnant wife because that was what she was craving. I was disappointment because they were sold out for the day and I knew just how badly she wanted them. Luckily, they had a single one of the regular buns which the associate offered to me at no cost together with a scone. They're so amazing and I find their service...

Stopped in for my favorite Mediterranean croissant that has sundried tomato and light pesto since they make it at this location but not at crowfoot. The staff said they don’t always make it but checked in the kitchen then offered to bake some fresh for me! I was so excited they’d do that as I was going to the salon next door for 1.5 hours. They said they’ll make me some from scratch so I got box of 4 😋😋😋🥐🥐❤️ I don’t frequent this location as it’s a bit farther for me but so worth it for these specific croissants that they don’t have at all Cobs locations plus the spectacular service every single time!
