Restaurant Manager mr. Ragu

Ambiance Upon entering the restaurant, it is noticeable that the decor is vibrant and colorful. The walls have been adorned with intricate patterns and designs that are reminiscent of Indian culture. The lighting is dim, and the furnishings are plush, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Service It has been observed that the service at Bombay Tiger is attentive and knowledgeable. The staff have been trained to provide excellent customer service, and they are happy to explain the different dishes on the menu. They are also prompt and efficient, ensuring that guests have a pleasant dining experience.

Food The menu at Bombay Tiger has been crafted to showcase a range of Indian dishes. It has been noted that the chef has a talent for creating innovative and delicious dishes that are both familiar and new.

Rajasthani Kachori One dish that has been praised is the Rajasthani Kachori. This crispy, golden pastry has been filled with a perfectly spiced mixture that is both flavorful and aromatic. It has been observed that the combination of textures and flavors in this dish is truly exceptional.

Bombay Tiger Tikka Another dish that has been recommended is the Bombay Tiger Tikka. This marinated chicken dish has been cooked to perfection and is served in a fragrant spice blend. It has been noted that the flavors in this dish are complex and nuanced, with a subtle smokiness that adds depth and interest.

Cheese Naan Bread It has also been observed that the cheese naan bread at Bombay Tiger is a popular side dish. This buttery, soft bread has been filled with gooey cheese and is perfect for sopping up the flavorful sauces that accompany the main dishes.

Desserts The desserts at Bombay Tiger have also been praised. One popular option is the Gulab Jamun, which consists of sweet, sticky dumplings served in a fragrant syrup. It has been noted that this dessert is both familiar and comforting, with a delicate sweetness that is balanced perfectly by the tangy syrup.

Beverages The beverages at Bombay Tiger have also been observed to be excellent. One popular option is the Mango Lassi, which is a creamy, sweet drink made with yogurt and mango puree. It has been noted that this drink is both refreshing and flavorful, with a welcome burst of citrus that adds brightness and interest.

It has been observed that Bombay Tiger is a truly exceptional restaurant. With its vibrant decor, attentive service, and delicious food, this establishment is a must-visit for anyone who loves Indian cuisine. Whether you are a seasoned foodie or just looking for a new dining experience, Bombay Tiger is...

1.What a beautiful people and excellent dishes we ate at the Bombay Tiger restaurant!

Firstly, we were so amazed with the really delicious meal the chef at the restaurant provided. Secondly,we were even more impressed with the kind heart to send the jacket we mistakenly left at the spot.

Me,my wife ,her sister and my brother in law was traveling the BC inner territory to the far north Liard hot spring from Vancouver Canada for 9 days with a minivan roadtrip.

2.Our first plan was to visit Jasper and Banff national park only to find out it was not possible due to the wild fire that devastated the town of Jasper which resulted in a road close of Highway 16.

So we changed our plan to make a big detour turn from the Liard hot spring to city of Edmonton and Calgary and eventually to Banff national park which was why we could fortunately visit and taste Bombay Tiger restaurant in downtown Calgary.

3.When we arrived in downtown Calgary we tried to find good restaurant especially an Indian one and saw the Bombay Tiger had an excellent google reviews.

But it was closed when we drove our minivan there so we took a walk around the restaurant. We had about an hour left to kill.

We walked the streets around and visited Bow river side park which was very good because it had a good view of the city core downtown containing high rise buildings.

We saw not many people at that time but some taking a walk or bicycling. After we killed time for the Bombay restaurant opening hour at 11am we got there and became the first customers that day.

4.My wife and her sister ordered several dishes mainly according to the recommendation of the lady employee who was taking our order.

The dishes there were simply the best I ever taken as Indian meals. It was not only me who loved the meal there but was an unanimous one.

5.My brother in law told us he was a bit reluctant about going to the Indian restaurant at first because his previous visit to an Indian restaurant was not that successful. After tasting the dishes he found the dishes at the restaurant was really good.

6.Problem happened, My wife’s sister forgot to bring her favorite winter wind Jacket at the restaurant and left it there when we left the restaurant but she did not realize it until it was too late to go back.

We called them and messaged that we left it there. Lady call taker promised she will send the jacket next day.

7.Problem solved, They sent it free of post charge and I received the jacket the other day and we all 4 of us were much impressed with the Kind hearts of the people working there.

Kudos Bombay Tiger!!

Thanks again

Overall ok. Few things they need to do better. Staff uniform When we went on a Sunday night for dinner. The Girl that was working, she wore a apron with a short top underneath. From the back you could see half of her bare back. Not attractive when your having a nice dinner. They open 4 months ago and their food is ok. Nothing to special, price is high for quality of portion and food. If staff is busy they will ignore you until they come to your table. No good customer service. They don't pass by and say. Hi we will be with you soon. For Kensington location is not a wow factor.

*Update I just received a call from the owner He was very nasty and scary person. I Never experienced a owner calling back after a review and saying to a customer I'm fat and ugly and I'm jealous of the girl staff. Crop top are allowed in all fine dinning restaurants all over the world. If her back is showing it's totally ok! He Said I'm jealous because my husband was staring at her and she is hot. I was shocked. He was talking with no respect. This owner will not accept the fact I have the right to write my google review the way I experienced it. He was being creepy by saying I was on your page. "You only eat at A&W, 😞 my restaurant is the only good place you ever have ever been too". An owner of a business is saying this to me after a simple feedback. The way he was talking to me. Not a real business owner with any customer service. Read his other comments on feedback owner repose. You could sense he is arrogant Bombay Tiger owner you really shocked me the way you called me up and handle the situation. we all have the right to voice our opinion. Please No harrassment on other customers like you did on me today. That was scary. I blocked you Mr. Pra(sad) Patil. I forgive you for the harrassment phone call and the awful things you said. I Don't recommend this restaurant, horrible experience! Selling halal and alcohol together! Negative 😔 zero. Based on...

Had a hankering for something new, as far as weekend brunch recently (February 2024) and stumbled on Bombay Tiger's web page, which has a rather appealing brunch section. Items such as Chicken Shakshuka $20 Irani green masala spiced kheema (minced chicken) 2 poached eggs masala hashbrowns & home-made butter bun Or Anda tawa masala $18 Street favourite in Bombay I boiled eggs cooked with spicy Tawa masala sauce. Upon receiving the menus we learned that these items were no longer produced by the kitchen. There is now a note on the web page which says that the brunch menu is on hold until April 2024. We ended up ordering from the main menu, picking DARYAGANJ CHICKEN CHANGEZI $18 Marinated and Tawa roasted Chicken legs cashew paste spices, onion- tomato masala & yellow chili dash of cream.(GF) And ANDHRA BIRYANI (LIMITED QUANTITIES MADE EACH DAY) $19/20 (NF, GF) One pot meal dum cooked Seeraga samba rice with broth & meat complex mix herbs & spices mint & ghee (bone-in-chicken leg OR goat) We picked goat for the meat, and a side of basmati rice. The goat dish appeared to be braised. I am not a goat meat expert, but expected something like a fall off the bone texture. Instead, the goat was very chewy. The taste was good overall even if a bit greasy. The chicken dish came with 3 drumsticks bathed in a thick sauce reminiscent of butter chicken in style. The sauce was tasty, the chicken cooked well, but the meat itself was strangely bland compared to the sauce. I suspect that the meat was not marinated prior to cooking. The service was on the slow side, we waited about 20 minutes to order after getting the menu. The food took about the same amount of time. Overall, Bombay Tiger was not bad, considering we were not in a hurry and looking for something new to try. We were not wowed however, perhaps one of those days.

Exceptional, excellent and epicurean. Folks, it does not get better than this. Located in Kensington, Bombay Tiger is a cozy Indian restaurant. On a devious walk through the neighborhood, and in search for a good culinary fortune on a sparkly, drizzly evening, my feet found their way into it. It is not a big establishment and perhaps the decor could do with an update–nevertheless once I sat down with my wife and looked at the menu, I had a feeling that I made the right choice. Now, without further blather, straight to the meat of the matter here (heh). We ordered a Bombay Fried Chicken for starters. Excellent dish with succulent chicken, exquisitely seasoned with a nostalgic, precise blend of spices and fried to perfection. The green chili chutney along with it, also delicious. For the main course, we had kulche chole. It comes with two curries- green and red. Both the chole curries were fantastic and my wife who is usually a picky eater was thoroughly impressed. I had the parsi chicken kheema, a dish I was looking for since ages. Minced chicken with mint, green peas perfectly spiced and I got a kerala paratha to go with it. It took me back to mumbai– the kheema delivered the taste, the fragrance and the rush of memories in spades. Easy recommend. The drinks are cheap and do their job well, which is to regale and coax your taste buds into taking your enjoyment of food to the next level. For the flaneurs among you, this is your spot to amble into and spend 2-3 hours of idle, yet intense, culinary bliss. For the gourmands, this is not to be missed. I give Bombay Tiger my full-throated recommendation.
