I came here because I was working across the street at the Plaza theatre for the Calgary international film festival. I was with a couple of others in between us. We ordered a little bit of food and some beverages. I got the soup of the day, which was butter chicken And a cappuccino. This soup was tasty and I won’t elaborate anymore on that. I’m not really here to judge the quality of an Indian dish at a café. When I sip my cappuccino, there was a very strange taste that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. They have a banana flavoured coffee drink, and I was accidentally given one of those. As soon as I mentioned it, they made me a new one without any hesitation and it was fantastic. The staff were absolutely lovely there. Will definitely be back to check out some of the live music Friday night!

Spacious and great covid protocols. Loved all the skylights and the two or three tables right by the window for people watching on the main street. Friendly service and delicious coffee. Washrooms available. Minus a star because the wooden chairs were really uncomfortable. They're tilted way back that even with my backpack shoved down my back I was struggling to sit up straight/comfortably to be able to be in a good position to write in my book. Perhaps a mix of random chair styles would be better so people can somewhat choose their own. Or maybe it was intentional so you don't stay too long 🤷♀️ Either way, I'll be back!

higher ground has become one of my favourite places to study these recent months ✩࿐࿔ So cozy, and the staffs are always so friendly, I rlly enjoy going on Tuesdays because there’s an open mic event and seeing everyone perform is so nice ʚ(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )ɞ Sometimes is hard to find a place to sit during peak hours but people come and go often. They have a big selection of teas and coffees, I find their coffees to be not too strong or sweet. I always get a latte w soy milk and vanilla ₊˙♡﹗˚ ༘ also they have some dairy free and vegetarian options 👍 food is mostly okay, but get a hot sandwich!! never misses fr i 💝 higher ground

I have been to this cafe so many times in the past. I feel that some food items were better in the past. The vegan chili I believe got smaller and less ingredients go into it. I generally like their drinks and especially pastries. Their Velvet cookie is so good which seems like a special item only that they don’t have anymore. Didn’t enjoy vegan chilli as much tho. The chilli was salty and mostly black eyed beans. It’s usually busy in here and hard to find good seats. The prices are on the higher end.
