I usually only post a review when something is very good or very bad..this time however, I decided before going that I would post no matter what, as this one was an adventure we went looking for because of it being on the food networks you gotta eat here. The restaurant is located in an older area of Calgary that I had not been to before. Finding a place to park was a challenge so that is a good thing to be prepared for. It's a relatively small place with about ten tables. The atmosphere was extremely casual and pretty loud, I think both because of the music playing and the close proximity of a lot of people. The food was okay. There were things that I liked and things that I didn't. All of the food came out hot and fresh. The fries are homemade. The hamburger bun was really fresh and probably the best thing about the meal. The main thing I would mention is that the hamburgers are very thin. I had the mac and cheese burger, there were other burgers on the menu that looked very good to me but they had two three and four patties. I wasn't sure about it as it seems like a whole lot of beef however, after ordering the single burger I now know that there is no fear of too much. The one patty was almost see through it was so thin. I'm talkin slice of cheese thin. it could be that it started out as a lot of beef but it is a very big bun so I guess to get it flat enough to cover the size of the Bun you end up with a very thin patty. For my burger I found that it was lost, it tasted like I was having a tomato sandwich that was overpowered with their red sauce which is a combination of ketchup mustard and red relish. if I was to go again I would get the three Patty burger and cut it in half and share with somebody. this way I would at least be getting a balanced Burger where it could taste like I'm actually having a hamburger. Cost-wise it is expensive. I had the hamburger and small french fry and it was almost $18. I did not have a drink and I did not add on any sauces which are about $1.65 for each sauce. I did however add bacon to my burger. Lastly, the staff were all very nice and friendly and the service was very quick. Overall this is why I gave it a three-star. There was nothing really bad about it but there was nothing really great either. It's just a nice quick stop for a hamburger if you happen to be in the neighbourhood. Just keep in mind that thing about the beef patties and...
Read moreHi. Today is April 28 2025. I took my employees to eat here today. The experience was not the best. I ordered the mushroom burger which was the lunch special posted on the front window for $9.99 and because I ordered the mushroom burger and did not say lunch special they charged me $17.49. And because I just paid the bill and did not really look at it when I ordered. After going to the bathroom and I sat down I then looked at the receipt I went to person behind the counter to let them know I was over charged for the lunch special. They said because I did not say lunch special that I could not get my overpayment back. Manager would not even come out from office to explain. Just sent me on my way and said next time ask for the lunch special. People working there said that what I had ordered was no different then the lunch special. So that means nothing would of changed other then me saying lunch special. I thought that was not fair as the sign did not say you must say lunch special to receive it. I guess I will let everyone make your own decision on that one but if i were you I will never go there again and I will never treat my employees to Boogie burger again. They just lost 8 customers over something very simple and I would encourage people to not support business owners like this because it is wrong and very shady way to make a dollar. I ask what our people and business owners doing that they disregard all proper human interaction and business ethics. Oh ya this is still a current special and will not change for at least a month they said. Go boogie burger. I wish you all the luck and enjoy the $7.50 you took from me. I hope it was worth it. If I could I would give you a zero star for just being rude. Future...
Read moreI am rating this place based on service. I have eaten in this location very often, as I used to work in Mardaloop and usually take out. However, I wanted to bring my kid and husband to this place as this is one of the few burglar places that use a separate grill for veg patties. Food was good as usual. What bothered me was the attitude of the person working in the front desk. We visited at 8.30PM on June 19th Saturday and there were 2 other families dining in, one already eating and one looking at the menus. When we placed the order (3 burgers, 2 fries and 2 milkshakes ) the lady working at the front said “we are closing in 30 mins just so you know”, and we were fine with that as we thought we should have enough time. Our shakes arrived in 5 mins, we were waiting 10 mins and watched our fries go to the next table, and the burger went to the same table as well but fortunately the other table said they have not ordered yet and the burger arrived at our table. And fries arrived in 2 minutes (hopefully new ones). They had screwed up my kid’s order and the lady at the counter was extremely rude when we mentioned it to her. Perhaps we were at fault going to the restaurant 30 mins before closing? Maybe I should have expected them to screw up orders and tell us “ we are busy” when they were rushing to close. We all make mistakes but the effort to correct the mistakes is what makes good service and makes customers come back. I can see that cannot be expected at this place, I will not be returning or ordering in from this place again. I would also refrain from tipping ahead of receiving service, if this is where the service industry is going. I regret doing it at...
