● • UNEXPECTED DISAPPOINTMENT | NOT RECOMMENDED • ● Sat Aug 10 2019 Reservation for 4 .
Background: Previously visited restaurant 1 to 2 times a year with decent service and food quality. Current reservation to celebrate 20 & 25 year wedding anniversary for respective couples.
Summary: Overall mediocre food quality with Extremely poor service wihen restaurant not being overly busy. Very Disappointed as value to price was not met.
The Good: • no waiting to be seated with reservation. • no mix up with drink and food order. • Appearance of clean and well kept restaurant. • Saganaki and hummus appetizers were well prepared. • 2 orders of lamb shank entrees were well prepared and properly seasoned.
The Bad: • 2 guest arrived 15 minutes early and the waitress did not offer to take drink orders; although the adjacent table who arrived later were provided with drinks. • Chicken fettuccine was not well prepared. The 1st attempt lacked sufficient sauce where the waitress was immediately advised. She indicated that more sauce will be brought to our table right away. 15 minutes passed with no sauce and a cold dish of pasta remained. The waitress removed the cold pasta dish and brought a newly prepared pasta entree. The menu described the pasta dish to be prepared with a wine sauce. Very misleading as No wine was apparent in the sauce and with lack of seasoning resulted in a very bland and tasteless entree. • Shrimp and mussel risotto was poorly executed. The risotto was undercooked resulting in crunchy bits rather than smooth silky texture. The mussel meat was extremely small given the shell size; reminiscent of mussels available at Costco. • Repeated requests for water and 1 soft drink refill. Water subsequently arrived but no soft drink refill. Restaurant was not overly busy with resulting poor customer service. • Expressed above food quality concerns to waitress who seemed disinterested. • No confidence for service improvement and ability to provide decent desserts; departed for alternate restaurant where experience was much...
Read moreOur experience was poor. Pathetic, actually! There was 5 of us, and it was a birthday celebration for 2 of us. Their feature entrees were rotisserie chicken or rotisserie lamb. 3 of us ordered the "rotisserie lamb" and got mutton kabobs that looked and tasted like yesterdays entree that was microwaved. I advised the waitress of the poor quality of our "rotisserie lamb". Needless to say, the manager was informed of our concern but he decidede not to address the issue with our table. We paid $81 for three mutton kabob meals that were gross - more akin to chewing boot leather. In addition, the lobster ravioli was $24 for six ravioli smothered in a creamy sauce that was more sauce than noodle; like the lobster walked through with long legs. In all fairness, the appetizers were good and our waitress was attentive but we paid good money (close to $300, in total) for 4 out 5 entrees that were not worth the price we paid. There were no kind gestures extended for the extremely poor quality of the food they served, or the fact we were celebrating 2 birthdays we felt their establishment would be proud to host. When the total bill came, with no compensation from management or concern by management, we all knew we would never return and we would certainly share our experience to best inform others of what they...
Read moreWe made a last minute booking to this place on Valentine's day and wasn't thinking it was for Valentine's day as I had planned a dinner reservation somewhere else on Family day.
What caught us, and maybe others that came into the restaurant, by surprise was their set Valentine's day menu. It was $65/person for a 4 course meal (one appetizer was shared). We weren't that hungry but didn't want to get up and leave to find another place to eat.
Kinda wish the hostess told us about it before seating us. The waitress that we had was very good and did made us feel welcomed. She was great! The atmosphere clean and normal. The food was a little salty for our taste and very dry. For the mains, I got the grilled Salmon and my husband got the chicken supreme. Both over cooked and dry. I couldn't finish my dish. The Baklava dessert was great but my husband said its a little sweet for him.
Overall, the reason I gave this a 3 star was because food was dry and salty along with the lack of information before seating us that there was a set menu. We also saw many people leave because they were made aware of the set menu after they were seated. For Valentine's day, it would have been terrible for people on a budget trying to impress their dates.
Would we try this place again? The answer is...
