I see sushi ginza as one of my go to sushi places. It is 'fun' dining here. When you go in you are greeted by the staff and asked where you want to be seated. Sushi ginza has three options that can change your dining experience. You can opt for the traditional tables (lowered similar to japan), regular tables or the sushi belt. All of them offer a different feel after the experience all leaving a positive impression. The food itself is above average. Not the best in class but definitely enjoyable. For me, they shine on their deserts so make sure to take a peek. The servers are pleasant. The ample space to park and other shops you can visit after ties up your experience pretty nicely! Highly recommended.

This restaurant is overpriced for the amount of fish you actually get in your rolls and the flavor. The Hawaiian Blossom is $15 (bottom roll in my picture) and you only get 2 tiny cubes of ahi tuna place on top. The roll itself doesn't even taste good. I would say it is only slightly better than purchasing sushi from the mall. And this applies to everything I ate except for the unagi rolls. Those were the only good things! I gave two stars only because the customer service is very good and I enjoyed the overall ambience of the restaurant. All in all, do not come here unless you want to pay a premium for mall grade sushi but better customer service than the mall.

So realisticly its nice inside but small and if you think its a buffet sushi style or *all you can eat* its not. its deliciouse wont lie but ... Also very pricey so if your not going with money dont go. Ask for terriyaki sauce and they charge me. I paid 4 bucks for gingerale and they gave me a small glass and no free refills. I coulda just baught a whole two litre one. Its pricey as hell and you will leave hungry spent 75 dollars and still went out to eat more else where. The sushi bar is nice the cooks are awesome but its not enough. 5 bucks for like 2 pieces of sushi and some are even more expensive. So good luck on throwing your wallet away.

All I can say is WOW!!!!!

I have had so much sushi. I am a total geek for everything Japanese and this place absolutely nails it!!

I have not even been in person, the DoorDash experience was simply that good.

From the seasoning of the rice, to the care of the packaging and freshness of ingredients. I truly am blown away.

I ate this fantastic meal of - Agedashi Tofu, Spicy Tuna Roll, Tempura Yam Roll, and Miso Soup while watching Bruce Lee’s fantastic “Enter the Dragon”.

The Miso Soup has just the right amount of green onion, and the delightful little tofu and seaweed truly top it off.

The Agedashi was fried to perfection, and they truly care enough to slice a ventilation hole into the packaging - ensuring it does not steam itself into a soggy texture.

The Spicy Tuna was SO FRESH. Fantastic crunchy cucumber, not too much spicy sauce & of course excellent fish.

The Yam Roll was the best I have ever had. I truly could not even believe how such a large piece of yam could remain so crunchy inside the roll.

Not only this, but the WASABI WAS KILLER. Real. Fresh. Wasabi. Something very rare in a Western Sushi shop - they obviously have learnt the Esoteric Sushi Teachings from the Grandmasters of Japan.

THE GINGER AS WELL!! DELIGHTFUL! Often you find pickled ginger is just ridiculously spicy and loses the real ginger taste. NOT HERE. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT.

I MAY HAVE JUST BEEN SO OVERJOYED THAT EVEN THE SOY SAUCE TASTED TRULY PREMIUM. A great salty kick to it!!

I have never had such good sushi in Canada.

Simple. Authentic & above all - prepared with love.

Thank you Sushi Ginza. You are so appreciated. You truly took my movie night to the next level.

I cannot wait to visit in person and bow before your chef!!!!

Arigato Gozaimasu!!!!!!...

I arrived right at open on a Sunday. I was greeted warmly upon entering. But then led to the smallest and most uncomfortable 2 top booth ever. I’m a larger guy (I wear a 3x shirt) so seating was very uncomfortable. I found this choice weird seeing as the restaurant remained mostly empty during my visit.

I ordered Tea. $1.50 Miso soup $3.75 Negi toro roll. $5.50 Tonkatsu curry rice. $16.50

The miso soup is very basic in terms of flavour. Very tiny pieces of tofu. I was hoping for a bit more for an item ordered at a restaurant.

The negi toro roll was okay. Sushi rice had a very balanced flavour and the construction of the roll was proficient. I would have liked more green onion in the mix as I found the onion flavour of the onion-tuna roll a bit too shallow…but this could be personal taste.

I was let down by the katsu curry. The rice was made with too much water. The curry was a but too thin for my liking. The tonkatsu was also pounded very thin and very dry. And the most egregious part was that it didn’t come with any ginger or pickle.

One area in where they paid great attention to detail was the green tea. The tea is steeped in the kitchen, I’m guessing in a larger vessel, poured into a tea pot and then brought to the table. This means that you don’t run into the problem of your tea overstepping during the course of your meal, having a wet teabag hanging out on a plate, or winding up with a very weak pot of tea when your tea pot is refilled with only hot water.

While I gave a lower rated review for this visit I am willing to return to try a pure sushi/sashimi meal. But only if I get a...

DO NOT WANT KIDS HERE! We went here this afternoon at 3pm with our 3 kids... after our experience we thought we might be on that show “What Would You Do?”

When we walked in we were greeted, we requested a booth as we have kids and booths work better. That’s when it all began. We were made to feel as though we were a nuisance for requesting a booth, even though there wasn’t anyone else there! The place is tiny so when the guy went to lead us to the table he had to squeez by our girls and was visibly annoyed that they didn’t instantly know that he was trying to go by them. Once we were shown to our table we were rudely asked to remove our shoes. In hind sight this is when we should have just walked out, but against our better judgement we stayed.

After having our food, some good, most very bland and subpar; I was paying our bill while the guy who sat us was sitting another couple across the isle when he apologized to the couple for our kids!

I could understand all of this if our kids were loud and disruptive, but our kids were very well behaved. I’m not saying they were perfect, I’m sure they were a little louder than the average guest, but there was no yelling, fighting, or crying.

At the end of the day, management may want to look into a new hostess as this guy is costing this...
