Choice’s Cafe & Bistro — Restaurant in Calgary

OMG !! What a surprise we had! Went from hangry to pleasantly satisfied. We were at Harry Hays to pick up a passport and to no surprise they couldn’t find the passport. Two hours & more in and $16 in parking fee now, they still can’t locate it. By this time we were starving and starting to get the “hangry” feeling, we told the officer that we needed to get something to eat. We didn’t want to leave our parking spot so decided to go somewhere within walking distance as we needed to be back before they close for the day. We decided to go to a pho restaurant, when we saw a little cafe on the way so thought we would go there instead. I’m so glad we did. I had a tuna sandwich and my daughter had a chicken wrap. The sandwich was soo good, perfect amount of mayo and something else in it and the fries so golden and crispy!! My daughter is a wrap connoisseur and she said that this chicken wrap was one of the best she’s had!! The wrap and the salad had a special sauce that was really tasty. Everything was so fresh and soo yummy that we forgot to take the before picture and this pic was the only one we took… I mean we cleaned our plates and it’s not because we were hungry but we were rejoicing every bites !! I came here by a recommendation from a close friend and it ended up being the best decision. The first time I came by I was met with the sweetest staff who were so patient and kind with me. Complimenting my earrings and overall just being extremely warm and welcoming. They checked on me multiple times to make sure everything was alright. I can’t express how lovely they are.

I ordered the pumpkin spice which came in a beautiful mug and tasted amazing. The atmosphere of the cafe is lovely. The couches are cozy and the space itself is decorated in a really unique way. After my first visit I knew I’d be back as a regular. During my second visit I tried their lunch special Chicken Katsu with Vegetable Curry on Rice with a pumpkin mocha. The pumpkin mocha was such a unique drink and the katsu was fabulous. The portion size was perfect and left me so satisfied. I’ve heard great things about their matcha and will be back to try their other meals, cake and drinks. Their autumn series is a hit though.

Such a cute spot to relax for a bit, do some art or study. Very thankful they are open early on the days I work around there. I will be taking my friends here and making this one of my new regular...

I have been going to the "Choices" bistro for many years now and have never been disappointed. Their food and sandwiches are fresh and made from scratch. The owners were running the bistro by themselves and it showed their pride and dedication to the high standards, they always kept. The business is now under new ownership and I had to check it out on my business trip to Calgary. I usually stay in the DELTA downtown and the bistro is right across from the hotel. This is my "go-to" breakfast place. The new owners have kept the same menu and affordable pricing, without sacrificing the quality and great atmosphere of the bistro. The new furniture and window coverings actually enhance the appearance and uniqueness of this venue. I'm very happy to see a successful business to have "survived covid" and the rising costs of living by delivering a great atmosphere, great fresh food and keeping the the pricing affordable. I wish the new owners lots of success and will come here for many...
