Moon Korean BBQ is a Korean restaurant located within Chinatown. They serve Korean styled dishes such as BBQ, hotpot, seafood pancake and much more. They have sets for groups of people and single portions for individuals.
To be clear, Moon Korean BBQ does not offer all you can eat Korean barbecue like many other places. However, this should not be an issue.
Moon Korean BBQ has one of the largest menu selections for a Korean restaurant within Calgary. This means that even if you have had this place once there are so many new things to try.
While the menu can be a little daunting Moon Korean BBQ offers dinner sets. The dinner sets allow you to try a diverse amount of their cuisine. The dinner sets can serve multiple people depending on which one is ordered. Food that can included in a dinner set is Korean barbecue, hotpot, seafood pancake, sushi rice and many more side dishes.
The food was incredible. As stated earlier, this place does not provide all you can eat. However, the quality of their meat is delicious. Unlike all you can eat, Moon Korean BBQ serves high-quality cuts of meat. Allowing for a more delicious experience. The seafood pancake was a little bland. The hotpot was great but felt a little small. The soup in the hot pot was delicious and the meat was well prepared to fall right off the bone. The side dishes (Kim Chi, glass noodles and lettuce) were all fresh and well prepared. Nothing was expired or going sour.
Aside from food, Moon Korean BBQ has a great selection of drinks. This ranges from alcohol to non-alcoholic. Most Korean restaurants provide the basic drinks such as soju. However, Moon Korean BBQ has a larger drink menu. I definitely recommend trying the soju cocktails. They also have many fruity drink mixes for minors.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. They can even help with food recommendations if an individual feels overwhelmed. The price for the food is reasonable and the portions were much larger then expected. That being said, it will not be much cheaper than all you can eat, if you choose to eat Korean barbecue here.
Overall, Moon Korean BBQ is a great place to dine. Serving great quality food for a reasonable price. The sets provide a lot of variety, so the food won't feel bland. If you like Korean barbecue, I highly recommend giving this...
Read moreWent there with friends ended up being refused to dine in by the restaurant. All of us have valid proof of vaccinations (QR code that is issued by Alberta government) and photo IDs. One of us received vaccine from abroad. His vaccination records are submitted to and approved by Alberta government (A QR code was issued). When the server scanned his QR code it showed “valid”. Yet the servers said they need to see the the date when he receive the second dose. Upon their request, we showed them a picture of the paper copy of proof of vaccination. However they requested to see the physical copy. I questioned the reason for requesting to see the physical copy of the vaccination record, the servers responded as “a friend of the owner is a nurse”. On Alberta government website, it clearly stated that both “paper or digital” proof of vaccination are valid. I just don’t understand if the restaurant is requesting to see the physical copy of the vaccination record, then what’s the point of implementing the digital QR code across the province. We have showed the servers the Alberta government webpage, but they insisted on asking for the physical copy of vaccination record. Their reasoning behind it is that “people can fake their vaccine record”.
I know this is a difficult time under COVID pandemic, things can be confusing. However despite our efforts of trying to show the servers the governments webpage, photo of vaccination paper record, they still did not believe us. Very...
Read more24.50 per person all you can eat. Overall it's really good! There isn't as much variety as I thought. They didn't serve any seafood and was only meat based and some veggie vegetarian based food but for the price not bad. Dessert was a little bit of a miss, they only had icecream which were only 2 scoops per person. 3 types of icecream flavors; chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. Resturant was great, lighting was a little dark at night making it difficult to take photos without flash. The esthetic of the interior was pretty cute. The servers were very nice I didnt have to ask to fill up the little jug of lemon/rosemary water. However, it made it very awkward when it came to the bill. The server thought we would pay by card till I said I would pay in cash nothing wrong about that but the server stood there as I was counting my bills. It made me very anxious because I felt the serve may judge me if I tipped low (of course I didn't because they were nice and the food came out very fast and I...
