Connie and John's Rooftop Patio — Restaurant in Calgary

I was very disappointed about this place. The service was shocking, the food was bland and cold. I ordered the chicken tacos which are $6 each for them to come out tasteless and cold. I told the server to take them back and off the bill straight away. My friend had ordered the Avocado Salad and from the 2 hrs we were there it never came. When the bill was finally brought to us we questioned this with the server as we never received the meal and she replied “really? You didn’t get it?” Even though she was the only one serving our group. So we had to argue to get it taken off.

Note: groups of 8 or more has to be on one bill and a 20% gratuity is automatically added.

The server finally came back with the correct bill without the Salad. We questioned about the 20% and explained how we had terrible service and didn’t want to pay this and explained we ordered drinks that took over 30mins to come, tacos were returned back to the kitchen, food never came and the server laughed in our faces.

To avoid the hassle we paid 18% gratuities on the bill because clearly we weren’t getting anywhere and there was not manger to be seen.

we had such a wonderful experience at connie & john’s pizza rooftop! 🌟 i went with my best friend and my baby, and from the moment we arrived the staff went above and beyond. the manager personally escorted us upstairs, helped with the stroller, and even set us up near a patio heater so the stroller would be in a comfortable spot.

we started with oysters, caesar salad, and a bottle of sauv blanc, which were all excellent. for the main we shared the hawaiian style pizza and it was fantastic. our server was warm and attentive, even bringing hot water to warm a bottle, and the whole team made sure our night flowed smoothly. when the mains arrived, they refreshed our plates and cutlery and even arranged the dishes on the table for us.

the rooftop views were stunning and it felt like the perfect place to enjoy dinner with family. everyone who came to our table was kind and thoughtful, which made dining out with a baby feel so easy and enjoyable. after dinner we were able to take a nice walk around the area which rounded out the evening perfectly.

Staff and their manager are so confused. I booked rooftop bar a week a ago to celebrate a special event with my family and called to confirm. A day before I called to confirm the booking, I was not booked for rooftop but main floor. On the day of my booking, they called and said I made a double bookings at same time and which one to keep. Seriously, Instead of being courteous and accepting their mistake they will embarrass you as if you have asked their kidney. Then every employee makes their own policy for outside food. I had to bring cake for they event, because they didn’t offer me a cake, so I have to order from outside They asked me I must pay 1.5 per guests but when I came on-site they first refused and when I explained them about the previous conversation, they said that was wrong information and now you will have to $25. The staff should be trained to treat customer with respect and accept their mistake instead of arguing. I think that’s the basic etiquette we expect anyone working in a restaurant industry.
