I'm not sure this mall did itself any favors by closing down South Street Burger Co. and replacing it with Harvey's... 🙄
The last time I was this early, Harvey's was supposedly higher tier than basic fast food places because they apparently make the burgers fresh to order? That certainly is not reflected in the service or quality at all! 🤨
I tried it for the first time today (Feb 26, 2025), I ordered a 1/4 lb Angus burger without the combo. I went over to the bubble tea place to get my drink and the pattie was already placed into the bun and ready for me to customize by the time I got back... That is obviously NOT FRESH or made to order at all, unless the "made to order" aspect of it only referred to customizing the toppings and nothing related to the meat? Then in that case, I totally didn't get the memo... 🤣
When I went to actually eat the burger, the first thing I noticed is the size was sooo small, I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be a jr. size and they made a mistake or if it was actually the normal size? 🤔 But the worst part is they were also skimping the bacon by giving me only 1 slice, snapped in half, to fit inside the burger instead of giving me 2 full slices like a proper serving of bacon is supposed to be! This Harvey's is obviously on the same level as A&W, so what is the point of going here at all, might as we just go to A&W in that case? 😡😡😡
Notice how bars/pubs don't skimp the bacon on their burgers? Bars/pubs actually give you 2 full slices of fresh made bacon, not the microwaved kind. Why is that??? Maybe because we pay $30 for burgers at a bar/pub, of course they gotta give you the good stuff... 🤯
I actually kind of miss Burger Street Co. because the only REAL PROBLEM I had with them was that one time when that one server was abusing my burger by putting the cold cheese slice ON TOP of the condiments ON TOP of the meat like he never made a burger before, lol. But that is actually considered a relatively minor issue in comparison to skimping bacon, if I am being honest.
I might as well just go to Milestones for burgers at...
Read moreBeen here a couple of times recently and both times they got my order wrong. The first time I ordered a kids jr. cheeseburger, it wasn’t until I sat down at the food court I realized I got a kids crispy chicken burger. The second time I ordered kids jr cheeseburger, it wasn’t until I sat down, looked at my receipt and noticed I got charged for the jr combo, but not kids size/price.
Food: overall it was good for fast food, and exceeded expectations. I like that it comes with toppings for free and a wide variety of sauces. The charbroil is nice and flavour comes through. Portions were fine for the price and comparable. Fries for the combo is generous.
Service: given there were errors both times, I’ll make a note to check my receipt and pay more attention before I leave the line. Accuracy has been 0/2 so far in about a months time. Oh and I didn’t get a kids toy, which was stated on the menu. Usually don’t need the junk and would turn it down, but I should have had the option to turn it down - false advertising. My 2 year old was with me when ordering so they knew it was for a kid.
Atmosphere - not applicable since it’s in a food court and this franchise doesn’t control that. But overall the updates have been nice.
Price - comparable to other fast food burger places. But since it includes toppings for free, Harvey’s in general has this slight edge.
Overall, the biggest lesson for me is to pay attention and check the receipt and food before I sit...
Read moreHarvey lover, it’s my everyday go to, I was very excited to have Harvey more often since it opened in market mall, didn’t wanted to put the negative review first 3 times and stopped visiting here, staff is still not familiar with the POS system and every time makes a mistake to redeem scene points, visited after weeks today and happened the same thing, girl on the pos needs more training to work with the system. Only redeemed $10 when it could have been $15. Breaks are short for mall staff and dealing with this more than few times, takes away the time. Other than that food is great, always...
