Oh my goodness, PB & J YYC is absolutely awesome! As Americans visiting Calgary, we were immediately struck by the fantastic feel of this place – it's just got such a cool and welcoming vibe. What really stood out was their incredible selection of freshly made nut butters. We were even offered some generous samples first, which was such a treat! After trying a few, I decided to purchase some of their almond butter, and I was so happy to see there was absolutely nothing else added – just pure almonds, which is exactly what I was looking for. But the real star of the show for me was the grilled PB & J! We both decided to try it, and I opted for the one with raspberry jam. I've always wanted to try a grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwich but just never got around to making one myself, so I was super happy to find a place that did all the work for me. And let me tell you, using their freshly made peanut butter took it to a whole new level of deliciousness. The warm, gooey peanut butter with the sweet and slightly tart raspberry jam between those perfectly grilled slices of bread was just heavenly. The staff here were also incredibly friendly and helpful, making our experience even better. Honestly, I could not imagine a better place for a delicious and nostalgic treat with a gourmet twist. My only wish is that we had a PB & J YYC shop back home in Missouri – it would definitely be a regular stop for us! This place is a must-visit if...
Read moreMust love peanut butter!! I wanted to give this business five stars for a variety of reasons...while the service while a little slow, it was really good. Though I didn't watch the food preparation, I'm willing to assume it was on the slower side because each sandwich seemed delicately hand crafted. I ordered both the Elvis and the PB Smash Burger. Both were excellently crafted and picturesque...look through the pictures and you will see this place makes a beautiful sandwich and mine were no different. So there-in lies the rub, I like PB and I think the novelty of the shop is worth applauding, but if the root of the business is the taste of the food, I would say keep moving unless you LOVE peanut butter or sweets - because they knock it out of the park with sweets. Again, this isn't a knock on this business at all - the service was good, the atmosphere was good, the prices for the quality and presentation were great...it's just unless you LOVE peanut butter, this probably isn't your best lunch/dinner post-up because the novelty just won't get you there. That being said, if you do love PB or are willing to take a flier on supporting local businesses, can't recommend this...
Read moreCold soup. Skimpy sandwich - less than half the ingredients on the website picture. Regarding your reply: 1. There was no mistake. I was referring to the pictures on your website that made me decide to go there. I merely asked if you had a tuna sandwich at the shop. I chose the turkey/bacon sandwich. There were a few small slices of bacon and 1 razor thin piece of turkey + cheese. The slice of cheese (the major ingredient by far) was much thicker than the one slice of turkey. I can assure you the sandwich I was served was nothing like the one you say you took pictures of yourself for the website picture. I had to open the sandwich to see if there even was turkey inside. 2. The soup was not "perhaps" cold. It was cold. I know the difference between hot and cold. FYI I rarely comment on restaurants but felt compelled to do so as at the price charged for the sandwich I felt totally ripped off. Hopefully (for your other customers) this was an...
