March 2021 - After sampling my 13 piece "Feast" from Mary Brown's last night, I read my previous review and was surprised that my experience barely changed from the last visit. The only difference was the cashier was not at all welcoming and the coleslaw was inedible. Had I been dining out I would have sent it back. A bit of slaw swimming in a sea of mayonnaise. It was horrible and it went straight into the garbage. I thought my dinner was an odd combination, complimented with an over-sized what seemed to be dark beef gravy to go with my dry and bland taters. The taters looked as though there was some sort of seasoning on them. I'm thinking "Why would you serve beef gravy with chicken, and why so much"?? Before I could finish my plate, the gravy had partially solidified and cracked. The chicken was very good. The meal over-priced and way over-priced for the quality. It was just over $46 including tax. The next time I'll go to the other chicken place that offers a 15 piece for $30.45 with a coupon and is far better value, even if the pieces are a little smaller. The only way I'd be going back to Mary Brown's is if I happen to forget this experience, or if I just ordered the chicken and nothing else.
3 years Ago. Nice clean place. Staff were very friendly and gave me my meal on credit until the cash register rebooted. Service good. Place clean, cool, comfortable. Not many chairs. Maybe seats 10 or 12 at most. The chicken was big as were the fries, maybe a tad dry, slightly overdone and lacked any flavour aside from "chicken", but served fast. You won't walk away hungry on the 2-piece! I did not find it greasy at all. Good experience, would go back for...
Read moreI'm a fan of Mary Brown's in general but I would rather drive further and avoid this particular (Marlborough) location at any cost. Take a look at the size of the chicken I got with my "Big Mary". The Big Mary was not even purchased on Monday when they have their Big Mary special. On a previous visit to this location, I happened to walk in as the guy working in the back was helping himself to and eating taters while working in the kitchen. He turned around as soon as he saw us walk in to try and hide the fact that he was eating in the kitchen but a few seconds later I saw him working on another order again in the kitchen which means there was no hand washing in between picking food up (probably from someone elses order), using his fingers to eat the taters and then starting to work on another order. I made the mistake of giving them a 2nd chance since they are the closest most convenient location for me but never again. Would much rather go to the 46 avenue location where the food quality at least seems to be head and...
Read moreI’ve had a lot of chicken sandwiches in my life—a lot—but the Big Mary? Tremendous. Absolutely incredible. People have been talking about it. They come up to me and they say, “Sir, have you tried the Big Mary?” And I say, of course I have, because I only eat the best. This sandwich? It’s huge, very juicy, the bun is perfect—not too soft, not too firm—just right, like the economy under my administration.
The chicken is breaded to perfection. I don’t know what they're putting in that secret sauce, but folks—it’s working. Better than anything at those woke fast-food places, believe me.
The pickle on top? Iconic. Probably the best use of a pickle since... well, ever.
Would I eat it again? I already have. Twice. And I’m thinking about a third. Honestly, if we served Big Marys in the White House cafeteria, everyone would be winning.
Highly recommend. Big sandwich. Big flavor....
