The health dept needs to be called!! * Understatement!! I've NEVER experienced a dirtier place to walk into!! We did order because we were really hungry but will not be back again at this particular location! First, the front door inside & out were dirty with hand prints. Every surface, I mean every surface was caked in dirt! I've got pictures I'll be posting. Then, staff, 2 ladies seemed very unhappy and almost too the point of rolling her eyes. Impatient for sure. For the rice, she was scraping the bottom of the bowl with hard crust. Got our order and receipts are just flowing out of the machine without putting them away. Each table was literally dirty and smeared with crumbs and the seats were extremely dirty to sit on but also where you place your hands to move the chairs, each one was black on each side. Eeewww!! Ripped seats and dirt everywhere. The chairs are misplaced and the floors were the worst I've seen. Extremely dirty like they haven't been cleaned in several months. One bathroom was out of order and the trash can behind the counter is overflowing with garbage. We felt extremely dirty just standing there. So, with that said, how was the food? How was it prepared?? Is it safe to eat? When we asked if she could clean off the table, she started to roll her eyes, came over and sprayed windex that hit the seat, was in the air and she left it wet. Ummm, Beyond Gross!! Sorry guys .... I'm not sure what's wrong with this picture but it really needs new management!! Oh, one seat had a foot print on it and Trust me, I didn't go in!! Where they prepare food they did not wipe it off...

I visited this location on Saturday July 25. My first concern was that none of the employees were wearing masks, face shields, or coverings of any kind. There was another review that someone left from 2+ months ago that addressed this. But clearly Mucho Burrito's parent company (MTY group) doesn't seem to listen or care. Its surprising they still haven't implemented these changes, As I did some research and found that a Mucho Burrito employee had tested positive for Covid-19 and continued to work, (at the Fairmount Drive S.E location) back in May.
Even with Calgary's mandatory mask bylaw starting August 1st, they do not seem very proactive, only reactive doing the bare minimum until forced to do otherwise.
My second issue was that the food seemed ok, but about four hours later I became very ill with symptoms that coincided with food poisoning. This was the only meal I had ate, so I can only conclude that something in my burrito was "off" or had potentially expired. Writing this now on Tuesday (July 28th), I still don't completely feel back to normal and still feel somewhat ill from it.
I feel its also important for me to say, that I have had good experiences at this location on the occasions that I've come in the past (pre-covid-19). But with how they are responding to the pandemic and the food poisoning I experienced. It makes me very hesitant to recommend, or ever consider returning to Mucho Burrito...
Read moreI am a regular mucho burrito customer. Today I was super unimpressed with the service. I stood and watched while the woman wiped off the counter with her HANDS, the food prep area was a disaster. The portion sizes were so much smaller than usual (especially when I’ve ordered delivery and it’s nearly double the portion), the girl scraped the bottom of the container for my meat and didn’t give me a full portion. She also dumped some sauce on my bowl when I was just asking if there was a dairy free sauce. She also didn’t ask if I would like anything else and when I asked for chips she huffed and puffed the whole time. And then proceeded to punch in my order when I was still trying to tell her I wanted a drink as well. I’m super unimpressed honestly and I don’t think I’ll return to this location. I would rather drive the twenty minutes to cochrane and eat there. Update Manager of this location always requests that you contact them but doesn’t actually offer any solutions. They offered FOR ME to come in and SPEND MY MONEY FOR ANOTHER MEAL. But the manager would make it for me instead of his staff. Train your staff to do their jobs correctly and clean your store.
