Edit: Mucho Burrito doesn't put in any effort to resolve issues. It's all for show when they tell you to email them. They simply don't respond to anything.
My friends and I were really disappointed with our visit to this location Thursday night, the service and food were both a letdown.
We saw a sign in-store advertising free guacamole on Fridays, but the employee never mentioned it when we ordered. Our friends had to ask for it themselves, and when they paid, she only gave them one small container for two burritos. We assumed they’d get two since one isn’t nearly enough for two whole burritos. When they questioned it, she claimed that if they had paid separately, they would have received two. This made no sense, as she never actually entered the free guac into the system, so it didn’t seem like a corporate rule. It just felt like she was being stingy with ingredients.
Our friends also asked for an extra topping, and she initially said it wasn’t allowed because they ordered pre-built burritos but then said she’d make an exception. However, when it was time to pay, she suddenly mentioned she had “forgotten” to charge for the extra topping. At no point did she mention there would be an extra charge for what was essentially a tiny teaspoon of topping.
Because of this, I decided to pay separately for my two burritos just to ensure I got the free guacamole (based on what she had told us earlier). Sure enough, we received it but only after asking. When we requested an extra container for our friends two burritos who only received the one container, she was reluctant and repeatedly brought up extra charges $1.50 for more guac and $0.25 per extra topping. On top of that, she was rude and had an attitude throughout the interaction. She said “don’t be disappointed over $1.50” while handing us the other container of guacamole.
The portion sizes were also ridiculously small, probably half of what other places like BarBurrito offer. We’re talking just a pinch of shredded cheese. To make things worse, when we got home, the burritos were completely bland, with zero flavor. We had to add our own salsa and hot sauce at home to make it palatable.
Between the poor service and tasteless food, I won’t ever be...
Read moreWell I had to leave this review as every time I pass a mucho Burrito now I’m more and more frustrated by my wife and I’s experience. A couple weeks ago we were headed back home from south Calgary and trying to decide on where to eat. We wanted something on the healthier side (not deep fried) it was later in the evening and didn’t want to have a sit down meal so we went through some options. We had been to the Chipotle’s a month or so ago but it was a bit out of the way so my wife said “ let’s try Mucho Burrito.” We exited off Deerfoot and pulled into the parking lot. Parking was easy and walked into the restaurant. The place was empty but for that time of the night it seemed like a non issue. The restaurant was clean and organized so that was a good sign. The attendant was very nice and asked what we’d like to order. We both had the bowl. I had chicken and my wife had the steak. My wife likes a bunch of veggies on hers and was asking for a few things then we were informed that we were allowed to pick 4 things and the rest was a $0.25 charge per item. Honestly I couldn’t care less about the $0.25 but considering the competition doesn’t charge for extras I thought it was odd. (Again first time at a Mucho Burrito) Also thought it was odd when we clearly were possibly the last customers of the night that you might want to get rid of some Ingredients when everything was full to the top in the trays, maybe they throw everything out at the end of the night, maybe they don’t, I don’t know. Anyways $0.25 or not I don’t really care, if the value and taste is there. The bowls had no taste. The rice was bland and the beans had zero flavour. Everything just had a bland taste. The experience was a 1/5 basically a zero. In fact now every time we pass a mucho Burrito now we laugh. I’d suggest QC on your food and if you do charge for extra toppings maybe put more than one TSP. I understand that a negative review has an impact on potential customers so obviously I’m writing this with intention for improvement in your business. Hopefully you get the next opportunity of a new customer to get it...
Read moreAwful customer service. Went in on Feb 1st around 6pm. We were the only customers there. I was informed it would take a couple of minutes for the plant based crumble, I had no problem waiting. After the crumble was put on, I asked if I could get fajita veggies and the lady replied with a big attitude "that's what I asked before". She then put on about a tablespoon worth of sad old fajita veggies. When we came to the fresh toppings, I asked for hot and mild salsa. As I was visiting after a few months, I asked how many toppings were included (used to be 4 before). My question was ignored, it felt as if to rush us along. I repeated my question and she quietly said "unlimited". I then asked for some more mild and spicy salsa. She went on to the jalapeno and cilantro and put on a very slight sprinkle. I politely asked for a little more of both. She then grabbed a palmful of jalapenos and literally slapped it on the burrito. We were shocked at her behaviour. We proceed to complete our orders and pay. You could tell she was annoyed from the start till the end, and was trying to under-serve portions every step of the way. We weren't even asking for extra portions, just what comes with the burrito usually. I stopped coming to this particular location many months ago due to tiny portion sizes consisting mainly of rice. But yesterday's customer service will ensure I never visit this location again under any circumstances. Tables were also dirty and sticky and no napkins were available. Had to reach behind the counter to grab some, as no one was out...
