Stopped by Munch on 17th Ave at the old Tubby Dog location yesterday and had a couple nibbles with the family. The owner used to own 'Sandwiched' at the Calgary Farmers Market and we had been eagerly anticipating the return of their unique 'Hot Chick' Sandwich. It was delicious, saucy and tangy with a nice spice kick, def worth a try in the oversaturated Calgary hot chicken sandwich market. I personally don't like pickles so was not a fan of the coleslaw that had pickles throughout, I'll ask for it without next time.

That said, this review is for the grilled cheese sandwich special for $8.50. I have never had a grilled cheese like this at a restaurant before, this sammy was oozing cheese, the cheese pull was crazy, and did you see the cute cheese skirt? The mix of textures was really nice. All the cheese was nestled in a substantial but tasty buttery bread, which I would guess was brioche, and came with potato chips which were the perfect compliment and added a nice crunch when eaten on top (might have been house made). My husband and 3 year old shared this with me and we all agreed it was our favorite grilled cheese. We also tried the cheese & mushroom empanadas and cheesecake, both were homemade with lots of love, but the sandwich was the superstar here. Cheese lovers, this...

This place is a real neighbourhood gem. I’ve driven by a few times on 17th Ave but finally decided to stop in for lunch today—and I’m so glad I did.

The price-to-quality ratio is incredible. For $52, we got a massive chopped cheese sandwich, a “small” house salad that was basically full-sized, two potato clouds (crispy mashed potato pancakes with homemade aioli and chili crunch), a "Lt Smash" burger with two patties, perfectly crusted meat, cheese, and all the toppings, plus two pops and one of their homemade brownies. The chopped cheese had at least 3/4lb of beef - amazing.

I don’t get full easily—my grumbling stomach was scaring our cats this morning—but I could only finish 4/5 of my chopped cheese, which says a lot. I can eat with the best of them, and I left completely stuffed! The brownie’s getting reheated later with some ice cream.

On top of that, the space is super comfortable with a relaxed vibe. If you’re thinking about stopping by, just do it—you won’t regret it!...

Great sandwiches! Super filling and a great size for your buck! I’ve been here twice now and their menu has so much variety, that each time you can try something new and it won’t disappoint! Their desserts are also on rotation I believe, so each time you’ll see something new so try and get it while you can!

So far their chicken ceasar sandwich has been my favourite on the menu, their bread is perfectly soft and crispy and the chicken is juicy and flavourful, they also give you a lemon to add some tanginess and I think it perfects the sandwich. Each sandwich comes with chips to add some crunch and something to munch on the side, which I think is genius.

The service is also nice and quick, and super...
