Originally called to ask about gluten free accommodations, the staff were pretty helpful for that. Then placed the order online through the website. That process was fairly streamlined and not too bad. We ordered pickup and got our food.
Brought it home and ate it and can honestly say pretty disappointed. I got vermicelli and it had like zero flavour. It’s like they just chopped everything up, cooked the vermicelli and chucked it in the box, no flavouring. The meal was still warm when I opened it but between no flavour and how tough the meat was I didn’t even finish half of it. My boyfriend said his meal was subpar as well. Not sure if this is just cause it’s takeaway or what. But for almost $50 for the both of us I’d say that it’s either way overpriced for what you get or the food is very meh. Either way not worth your time.
The Golden Bell in Bridgeland is absolutely amazing though, especially for gluten free folks. We’ll just go there from...
Read moreThis review does not do this place justice!! DROP whatever you are doing and get a seat at this place! it is by far the best experience I have ever had in my LIFE. I took my girlfriend to this place since she loves east-Asian foods and I decided to give it a shot. I was quickly welcomed and seated and immediately given the menu followed by the ABSOLUTE nicest and overall most professional greeting by a waiter named Adam. He made us feel like we were at home!! He served us and made sure our refreshments were always top notch and were always full. He recommended number 51 and I am so pleased he did because we LOVED IT. The food was delicious and the texture of the soup was perfect. As we were leaving, welcoming smiles hit us almost as if they were inviting us back. The chiefs definitely were amazing at there craft as well as they definitely have a strong grip on textures and consistency with foods and dishs 10/10...
Read moreI have been ordering take out from Golden Bell for a few years now (preferably the 17 ave location as they tend to give a bigger portion than the Bridgeland location) and have always been pleased with their vermicelli boxes.
I usually get the super bowl vermicelli (74B) or the char-broiled pork, shredded pork, pork meatball, and spring roll vermicelli (64). There is a nice variety and amount of meats, which are tenderly cooked and always arrive still hot. The sauce that the super bowl meats are cooked in add a nice sweet (and perhaps mildly charred) flavor to the vermicelli so you do not just eat it with the fish sauce that it comes with. Spring rolls are crispy and have a good amount of pork/vermicelli/carrot. I definitely finish these bowls feeling quite full and for the price, is quite worth it!
A reliable place that I will keep coming back for my...
