Newroz Sweet & Bakery — Restaurant in Calgary

We had purchased/carry out their kebab yesterday as we got unexpected guest and we decided to order 10 kebab from them. My Iranian guests loved it so much that they invited us the very next day to go along with them for a later lunch. We went there around 3:30pm. The kebab was exceptionally good and tender. 3 of us ordered the kebab platter that comes with their freshly onsite made naan bread and salad and hames and garlic sauce - it was soooo good. My husband ordered his kebab and rice platter and it was just as good. We would definitely go back to this place. Staff are very nice and friendly and welcoming. My one-star rating is not of the restaurant/bakery itself, but of the complex owners. The restaurant had amazing food, service and atmosphere when I came here in the past 2-3 years ago. Good reasonable prices and hot fresh clean food but not anymore. This place was always serving fresh hot naan with their kebabs and shawarma and fresh fries but sadly is no longer a restaurant anymore, only a bakery that sells sweets. They no longer have the kitchen and equipment they used to. Apparently, this is due to the owners of the building complex changing their policies and rules which is unfair. Please give them their restaurant back so we customers can enjoy the food again during holiday season and Nowruz. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year and...

you wont believe me but this is the best iraqi kebob i have ever taste in my whole life. the dish comes with 2 kebobs, Rice cooked perfectly, and 1 iraqi bread. you can ask for grilled tomato and onion. also they sell iraqi white and brown bread. i didnt ask them if they have iraqi tea or not but next time i will.
