A Whimsical Stop on 17th Ave | Colorful, Delicious, and Uniquely Calgary If you’re strolling down 17th Avenue and in need of something that lifts your day, Olia Macarons & Tea is that joyful little stop you didn’t know you needed. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by a playful palette of colors and delightful aromas that promise more than just dessert, they offer a moment of happiness. The macaron selection is impressive, elegant, vibrant, and full of flavor. Each one is a delicacy in its own right, with textures and tastes that balance sweetness and creativity. Though I didn’t have tea this time around, the setting clearly invites it: a warm cup of tea paired with a few delicate treats is what this place was made for. Location is prime, right on 17th Ave, across from a small park that offers a perfect place to sit, reflect, and enjoy your selection. Inside, you’ll also find charming little trinkets and curated gifts, another reason to walk in even if you weren’t originally planning to. Whether you’re looking for a thoughtful gift or simply want to treat yourself, Olia fits the occasion. The service was warm and welcoming, adding to the experience. This shop is more than just a macaron stop, it’s a local gem that adds charm to Calgary’s culinary and cultural scene. Wishing the owners continued success and creativity. May every visitor walk out not only with a sweet treat in hand, but also with a little more joy in their heart. “May your day be sweet, your tea warm, and your hope renewed.”

Such a cute little place to get hand made tasty macarons! So many to choose…good luck finding one favourite. I also took a macaron baking class this past week that was very enjoyable. I learned new skills and discovered an appreciation for these delicate French cookies.

My name is Amber, and I am a macaron addict. You should know that I feel absolutely no shame for eating this entire box of macarons in one sitting. Not even a little. Ollia is hands down, one of my most favourite macaron bakeries ever. The interior is chic, simple and interesting. Though there is a core selection of flavours, there are always seasonal flavours available as well and I almost always try something new. I love their little card program, where if you buy “x” number of boxes, you get 1 FREE! ❤️ I’ve gotten a few free boxes over the years, that is for sure! I’ve also taken their macaron making class in the past with an ex-boyfriend and we both really enjoyed ourselves. We learned lots about the art of making macarons, the history and practiced techniques in the class. We walked away with nearly 50 macarons between the two of us, and ya, you guessed it - I devoured them in no time ;) The product is top notch - perfectly balanced with a soft center, and crisp shell. But not so crisp that it crumbles in your hand! Parking is usually easy enough to get out front, and is free on Sunday’s and statutory holidays. Coming from a connoisseur that went on a macaron mission in Paris, you better believe this is a well deserved 5 star review 👌🏻

Ollia's macaraon were delicious, and I know where to come next time when I am craving for the best macarons in town. Now, why am I posting my review with 4 stars and not five if I am so happy with the product? Here is why: My 5 years old loves macaroon and when he saw a picture of macarons the other day on my phone's, he told me that he wanted exactly those in the picture because they looked the yummiest. I have tried a few good places in Calgary but I googled for the best reviewed and Ollia was on the top. I live in SW and it was about 35-40 minutes drive from my home but I came to your shop with my son. I understand that I was late and there were only 5 minutes left to closing but I thought it would be a quick in and out. I saw that the door was closed because of Covid-19 which is understandable so I called for the order and the girl who took my call told me that I had only one minute left to order. I told her that I was not familiar with Ollia's flavors so I needed to first look what my son would like. She told that there was a menu at the door and repeated that I had one minute left otherwise shop would be closed. Now, it was not her fault that I was that late but she could see me standing there in front of the door and repeating the "one minute left" did not sound courteous at all. It sounded more like, "just choose something in next few seconds otherwise go away". I did not want to ruin it for my son so I quickly ordered from the menu a box of 12. I will definitely come again to Ollia but it will be for the macarons, not the...
