I had an absolutely horrendous experience at this Popeyes location on the evening of December 30. The behavior of the staff was beyond unacceptable and warrants immediate attention from management. There were two frontline staff members present—both of North Indian descent, one wearing a turban, and the other whose name I believe was Jasmeet or Jaspreet. Their attitude toward me and my friend was appalling, as if they assumed we were not worthy of basic courtesy or respect. The condescending looks they gave us were downright insulting.
The preparation time was excessively slow, with several people waiting unnecessarily long for their food. When we asked to use the washroom, we were repeatedly redirected to only one functional washroom, which was occupied by what seemed to be a homeless person. The staff appeared indifferent to the situation and showed no urgency to address it.
Once our food was finally ready, despite us standing directly in front of them, they didn’t bother to acknowledge that it was ours. When we requested ketchup and napkins, one of the staff members threw them onto our food with his bare hands and proceeded to give us a disrespectful glare.
This experience has left me shocked and furious. It’s disgraceful to see such poor customer service and disrespect at a well-known establishment like Popeyes. This location has shattered my trust, and I will never return here. I strongly urge the owner to take immediate action against these two individuals. Such behavior is entirely unacceptable and a serious disservice to your brand.
Do better, Popeyes. This level of service is not just disappointing—it’s an...
Read morePopeyes Louisiana Kitchen has quickly become my go-to spot for a taste of authentic Southern flavor right here in Calgary. This gem of a restaurant, nestled on 17 Ave SW, delivers a mouthwatering experience that I can't get enough of.
From the moment I walked in, the friendly and welcoming atmosphere set the stage for a memorable meal. The staff is incredibly attentive, always ready to provide recommendations and make sure you have everything you need.
Now, let's talk about the food. Popeyes takes pride in its Louisiana-inspired cuisine, and it absolutely shows. The star of the show, of course, is their world-famous fried chicken. The crispy, golden-brown crust and tender, juicy meat are nothing short of perfection. Whether you like it mild or spicy, the flavor is out of this world.
But Popeyes offers more than just chicken. Their Cajun-inspired sides are a delightful addition to any meal. The red beans and rice, in particular, are a personal favorite of mine. They're rich, flavorful, and pair perfectly with the chicken.
And let's not forget the biscuits – oh, those heavenly biscuits! They're warm, flaky, and the ideal side to soak up all the delicious sauces.
What truly sets Popeyes apart is its commitment to quality. Every bite feels like a genuine taste of Louisiana, and the ingredients are fresh and flavorful.
In conclusion, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen on 17 Ave SW is a must-visit for anyone craving a Southern culinary adventure in Calgary. It's a five-star experience all the way, and I can't wait to return for another satisfying meal. Don't miss out on this slice of Louisiana right...
Read moreI used to work at Popeyes 5 years ago and was trained to give one small piece (leg/wing) and one large piece (thigh/breast) for a 2-piece combo. However, it's disappointing that I received two small pieces and that they didn't follow standard practice. What made it more disappointing is that I saw the girl initially put a different piece, then for an unknown reason, just before putting my food in the bag or packing it (I was already facing her at this time to receive my food), decided to go back and switch it. I just didn't notice that she switched a large piece to a small one.
Update: I am changing my review after calling and talking to a manager. I'd like to thank the manager for understanding when I expressed my disappointment. I do not really need compensation. It's just that I still question why the girl seemed to initially follow the standard practice but then decided to switch the piece before packing my food. I even thanked her when she was getting my order and didn't say or do anything bad. So it made me consider the idea that she probably thought I was easy and was willing to accept what she did. If this is indeed the case, I felt it important to leave this review and contact management, with the hope that it serves as a learning experience for the girl to treat not just customers but all people equally and should not take...
