I only give a 3 star because they owned up to their bad service but we were still so put off by the whole experience that it would take many more positive feedback from my personal circle of friends to convince me to come back.
In short, we were 1 of the first 3 tables to arrive for the evening. Hostess sat 3 of the 4 of us at a couch share with a couple was was sat in the middle. It clearly didn't not fit the 4 of us and we stood around til she noticed for us to ask if we could sit somewhere else. She declined and asked the couple to move over with zero explanation to them (it seemed like we were the fussy customers) so I spoke up to the couple to explain situation.
We intended to stay most of the night here, had ordered bottles of champagne, appies and entrees. As the place filled up, we were neglected and our drinks took forever to be refilled so we filled it ourselves. We no longer had a designated waitress at this point. Staff were helping all over the floor and one started clearing our cutlery and plates before we were done eating.
I was flabbergasted when the hostess then came and said we had 30 min til the next seating. I looked at her wide eyed and asked her to repeat herself. She did... I expressed, it's incredibly rude to ask guests to leave when their entrees haven't arrived yet. She immediately sent her manager. He came clearly with no briefing from her. Told him our experience from the clearing of plates to being asked to leave without our food. He said that shouldn't have happened and blamed the new staff for not notifying guests upon arrival of the 2 hr seating limit even tho "it's not an excuse". No apologies were made. I guess he made up for that by serving us our new set of cutlery and plates. Later, he said he comped one of our bottles and not to worry about the time limit. Then later the waitress came and apologized to us saying she didn't know what happened. And said she gave us an additional discount because she noticed we weren't checked on in awhile. She iterated the amount of discount they gave us at least twice. I know at this point they're just trying to turn everything around.
I still gave a 20% tip because I appreciated them trying to reverse the situation that shouldn't have happened in the first place. Money cannot buy back ones' experience. We came expecting to spend money and have a good time, instead we left feeling totally opposite. Train your staff and ensure there are experienced staff to look over the inexperienced ones. (Plus I agree with the other posts, the couches are not comfortable. They're only...
Read moreI visited Untitled during the evening of March 24, 2017 and had an absolutely amazing time! The service was beyond excellent, I believe our waitress' name was Mady, she was truthfully 90 percent of the reason our experience was amazing. She continuously took care of our table, refilled our coupes and came to check up on us enough that it wasn't overwhelming; she even ran over to The Derrick to grab me the menu just to appease my curiosity. We ordered the caviar service (which needs to be upgraded), the chicken liver, and the macaroons and truffles along side a few bottles of bubbly from the MASSIVE drink list. The caviar service could be presented a little bit more fancier in my opinion, but other than that all the food and drinks were amazing. The music was on point, and the crowd was exactly what you would expect in this sort of venue.
CONS: There needs to be a proper sign outside. It took us nearly 10 minutes of circling the block to find it, if you weren't looking you would miss it. Also, I would highly encourage you all to change your table and seating set up. The tables are too low and small, and the stools were very uncomfortable for my guests. Therefore making it awkward to enjoy the food and conversation at the same time.
I will 100 percent be back! Calgary desperately needed this type of lounge/restaurant. The staff and overall atmosphere is what will make this...
Read moreRude. Pretentious. Terrible Service. My family decided to stop here for a drink after dinner out on Saturday. There were 8 of us in total, 6 "kids" (in our 30s) and our parents. The hostess was incredibly rude; looking us up and down and when we asked if we could come in for a drink (the place was completely empty) she was annoyed with the question. It was 8PM and they had a reservation at 9:30PM and didn't want to seat us. After we said we were just in for a drink, she said fine but you'll get your bill at 9PM and then you'll have to leave. We agreed (and should have left then), sat down and ordered our drinks. After 40 MINUTES our drinks arrived. In the time it took us to order and get our drinks a whopping 4 other patrons came into the establishment, ordered, and received their drinks. After getting our drinks we only had 15 mins to drinks them and pay, and the hostess kept walking by our table/couch area and animatedly looking at her watch. The drinks were good, and the menu was interesting, and had we had time to enjoy the drinks, and were treated with more respect, we may have enjoyed ourselves. As we were leaving, the hostess loudly commented to a bartender "oh good they're finally leaving". I have never left a bad review. This experience will be shared by all 8 of us, and none of us will ever be back. I actually hope this place doesn't stay...
