I recently had the pleasure of dining at Maru Sushi & Don, and it was an absolute culinary revelation. The experience was nothing short of extraordinary, and here's why:

Exquisite Taste: The sushi, sashimi, and rolls at Maru are a symphony of flavors that dance on your palate. Each dish is expertly crafted with an evident attention to detail, resulting in an explosion of taste with every bite.

Freshness Personified: I opted for the fresh salmon bowl, and it was nothing short of perfection. The salmon was impeccably fresh, tender, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. It's evident that Maru takes pride in sourcing the finest ingredients.

A Symphony of Textures: The combination of different textures in their dishes is an absolute triumph. From the delicate crunch of nori to the buttery smoothness of the fish, every bite is a journey of sensory delight.

Welcoming Ambiance: The ambiance at Maru Sushi & Don strikes the perfect balance between cozy and contemporary. Whether you're dining solo or with a group, the atmosphere makes you feel right at home.

Prompt and Attentive Service: The staff at Maru Sushi & Don are a testament to excellent service. They're attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and go the extra mile to ensure your dining experience is nothing short of exceptional.

After experiencing the sheer brilliance of the fresh salmon bowl, I am eagerly looking forward to exploring the rest of their menu. Maru Sushi & Don has undoubtedly earned a spot on my list of go-to restaurants. If you're a fan of sushi, sashimi, and rolls, this is an...

🍜 Just discovered a fantastic little spot in downtown Calgary that you absolutely need to try!

Maru Sushi&Udon Family Restaurant is a delightful hidden treasure right in the heart of downtown. Let me tell you - this place is serving up some of the most incredible rolls and sushi I've had in the city!

The soups here? Pure comfort in a bowl! Each spoonful is packed with authentic flavors that'll warm you up on even the chilliest Calgary day. And don't get me started on their ramen - it's seriously next level!

What makes Maru really special is the family atmosphere. You can feel the love and care they put into every dish they serve. The moment you walk in, you're treated like part of their extended family - and trust me, that makes everything taste even better!

If you're wandering around downtown and craving some seriously good Asian cuisine, do yourself a favor and stop by Maru. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or just looking for a cozy spot with amazing food, this place hits all the right notes.

Pro tip: Their lunch specials are an incredible value, and the portions are generous!

Support this amazing family-run gem - I promise your taste buds will...

Discovered Maru Sushi and Don after a quick google of Japanese restaurants nearby when I was downtown this past week.

It’s a quaint little Japanese restaurant that has around 30 seats max. The food came quickly even if it was a full house. Price point is worth it for what you get because portions of the rice bowls are huge. All their rice bowls had the same toppings of edamame beans, cabbage, corn, crispy onions, radish, mixed greens, cucumber, pineapple and carrots. You just have to choose your protein, sauce, and white or brown rice.

Pictured are:

Chicken Teriyaki Roll ($7 for a 4-piece roll) - one of the best chicken teriyaki rolls we’ve ever had

Dynamite Roll ($5 for a 4-piece roll) - it was good but nothing special

Spicy Pork rice bowl ($17) - it was good and had the right amount of spice

Teriyaki Beef rice bowl ($17) - this was amazing and would definitely have it again

To conclude my review, we highly recommend this place and we definitely will be back to try out other things on their menu. Their service was excellent and they were very attentive. The only downside is that parking is not the best since it...
