Came in 5mins early on Mother’s Day dinner and managed to be seated at reserved time 8:30pm. Placed six dishes rather quickly. Dishes are good though portions have lessen and price is rather above average. Fish maw soap was good and then a crab dish. Disappointed that I had to put my hands up to get service with the restaurant nearly empty. No server came to see how we are or if we need anything. This is my third unpleasant experience after dining in this restaurant for so many years. What is really disappointing I brought another family without their dad as they went through divorcing. She did not have a good Mother’s Day so she had been crying after her 20yrs marriage ended. Thinking I can cheer her up by taking her and kids to our favourite restaurant. Our plates were not replaced so we dine with crab shells on the side. I had to stand up and walk over to them to get tea and then bill. After paying, asked for the manager and they point me to him. I asked him for his name and he said Johnny no caring or curious as to why I am asking whatsoever so I walked away. The service here has changed though some original servers are still pleasant. I am still bothered by our experience now that it was my...
Read moreMy family has been eating here for years. Longer than I've been around and let me tell you it never gets old. You get so much food for such a good deal it's incredible. Some of these reviewers have no idea what they're talking about. Our family of 4 always orders the dinner for two with a side of pork fried rice and it feeds all of us really well and we ALWAYS have lots of leftovers and my brother and dad are big eaters. We've tried other places but there food is never as good nor do you get the same amount (I once had to take very little portions because there wasn't enough for everyone and I was hungry again 30 minutes later. But this place will leave you feeling full for hours) My favourites are the chicken chow mein and the pork fried rice. Little greasy but it's never as bad as some other places we've tried. Some things may be hit and miss however, the only thing my mother has to complain about (and I kinda agree with her) is the spring rolls are sometimes off tasting. Nothing that some plum sauce cant fix though. An amazing place to get lots of cheap food that will fill your family up. I'll always...
Read moreUsed to be very good as far as quality of food and price but the last few times we were there the quality has gone down significantly. The Beef that they served in the Chop Suey was very tough and kind of slimy, the coating on the Sweet-and-Sour Boneless Pork was soggy, didn’t seem to be cooked enough. The Chow Main was good and they do serve up large sized portions but when we asked for a container to take home the leftovers I was surprised to see a $1.00 charge on my bill for the container. Now I know a buck isn’t a lot but they should have told me about it prior as well I feel that they already make a higher profit off of a customer coming into dine than the fees that they have to pay to companies like Skip the Dishes. If I had ordered the exact same meal and had it delivered they would have made far less money off of that because of the delivery company fees as well as no tip other then to the delivery driver. I feel that they’re taking their dine in customers for granted and have let things slide, don’t think...
