Just had lunch here, the food was acceptable the quality was fine the portions were small, you know that because it says on the menu small street tacos, that typically means small street tacos so that was in line. As other commenters have mentioned, they only sell bottled water, and likely, this is to make a dollar or so. I get it small businesses are having a tough time but in this case there was nothing wrong with the food and all the portions were much smaller than they should have been when it came to the portion of rice or I'm sure the soup or salad which I didn't get, I'm sure Those portions would have been tiny as well. I want to wash my hands in what seems to be the only washroom in the building, and I ran the water for 10 minutes waiting for warm water, which never came. I'm not sure how the staff can wash their hands properly using cold water, but the staff washroom is the same as the public washroom, and there is no hot water. After eating I went up to the counter and asked if I could speak to the owner or the boss and I was told specifically to leave the restaurant by the youngest person in the building who was a young lady. You can tell she literally had no customer service interest of any kind whatsoever. I certainly would have given it another try. For those of you who know my posts, you know I'm not a difficult customer. However, things need to be proper. I will be sure to communicate with the Health Board, and I'm offering the opportunity for the owner to reach out to me so I don't have to communicate with them. I'm not an influencer, I don't need to be an influencer, and I never suggested I was an influencer. This is an update to my initial review. I would just like to respond by saying that clearly this is not the little girl that I was talking to at the counter although she seemed to think she was in charge and maybe she is the owner but when I asked her for the owner or the boss she said please leave, that was my only interaction with her other than ordering the food and paying for it, I did not complain I did not say there was anything wrong with the food even in my review. I also did not say the food was too expensive, I did say the portions were small, and that's not a surprise because it mentioned it on the menu. I didn't complain about it. I just mentioned it. With regard to me being a small business, I am a small business, and you might know that if you had seen my truck and trailer in the rear of your restaurant. My words did not give you a restaurant a bad review. Your response is creating your bad review. As for being an immigrant, I have no idea if you're an immigrant or not as I've never met you, and all I know is that your restaurant serves Mexican food. Between you and marking on my thoughts about your restaurants and the way I was treated by your staff is what is creating the bad review. I do look forward to your...
Read moreWe got there today at 6:55. Hadn't been there for about a year. Tried to order off the menu but the screen kept changing. Making it very hard to see what you wanted to get. Asked to order a burrito. They said they were out of rice so they couldn't make burritos. Then I ordered some taquitos and four tacos. One Mexican sodas and one can of ginger ale. Was given the number 17 and went to sit down. The person said they would call our number to come get our tray. Cost of meal was over $50. Restaurant used to have nice tablecloths with Mexican fabric now. It was just weird pink table tops. No chips and salsa and no hospitality. When the food came out, there were four tiny tacos and four taquitos with hardly any chicken at all in them. The taquitos were buried in lettuce and watered down sour cream. Zero flavor on any of the food. One of the sites that we could choose for the combo plate was tortilla soup. The tortilla soup came in a a tiny condiment size bowl that held about 3 tablespoons of tomato broth with crushed tortilla chips. The soup wasn't even lukewarm. When our order was ready, the girl called our number even though our table was literally 6 ft from the counter and nobody else was in the restaurant for her to be able to bring us our food. Are meal equated each of us having the equivalent of one taco and two taquitos? We left in the car and in 5 minutes, our stomachs started to hurt. We drove straight over to Taqueria Jalisco in Whalley. Had a delicious meal there and are feeling much better. Ate a bunch of lime to kill what was ever bothering our stomachs. Before leaving this review, I did call the restaurant to inform them of our experience. Will not be going there again. Never heard of a Mexican restaurant running out...
Read moreHorrible experience. Ordered nachos, first off all they couldn’t understand simple English words. Then they charged us for sour cream, guacamole and salsa which should be standard with nachos. We paid for meat but barely got any and cheese was scarce. 90% of the chips had nothing on them. It’s cost me $33 for nachos which were horrible. Never going back to this place.
Editing to address owners comment.
Perhaps you should check with your staff prior to bringing a serious accusation of racism into the picture. The person taking our order did in fact struggle with the language. You should also check with them about these so called extras. There was no extra sour cream…just the standard, and no extra salsa…just the standard amount. If with meat the total is $20 then you’re telling me it cost $13 for guacamole? How about instead of coming at me for sharing an honest review, you address the issue and perhaps acknowledge the fact that the product I paid for wasn’t at the standard your establishment normally offers. I commend you on the customer service you’ve publicly displayed....
