I ordered a tray of sandwiches and cheese tray for 20 guest at my baby shower, which was $85. The cheese tray was beautiful and great! The sandwiches, not so much. My sister, who organized the shower, picked up the sandwiches and when she arrived at the location put them on a separate, nicer platter. When she did that, she counted the quarters as well as the strips of sandwiches. There were only 6 full sized sandwiches that were cut up. My sister went and bought an extra $60 worth of food from the grocery store as we did not have enough for the guests. I called Carmela at Sugar Dust and she was incredibly rude on the phone. Telling me there were 13 sandwiches and that there is nothing she could do and that I shouldn't have picked Mother's Day weekend for the shower. She was so rude that I had to hang up.....
She called back an hour later, after the shower had started and said she would make 5 more sandwiches but wouldn't have them ready right away. We were going to go and get them, but since the shower had started, no one could leave and pick them up. I took a picture of the sandwiches on the white trays. NONE WERE EATEN BEFORE THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN.
I posted another review and Carmela was incredibly rude saying we lied about the amount of sandwiches we received in order to trash her business and that someone must have eaten the sandwiches on route to the shower. It was a 5 minute driver and my sister was the one who picked them up.
The overall experience was terrible with this business and Carmela is HORRIBLE to deal with. She yelled at an 8 month pregnant woman on the phone and then called me a liar......
I am very supportive of small businesses, but never again will I buy from this bakery. I wish the review could have been more positive...... I have added photos of the review I posted on facebook as well. She is not a friendly person and I hope being a small business owner, she treats customers with...
Read moreI'm sure the cakes are delicious but we never got that far.
What stopped us from making any sort of order is the rude customer service. I didn't know running a bakery allowed a person to act like they were king of the world but apparently here it means that.
Sharing an opinion that these small homemade cakes were a little too pricey to serve at an event with about 100 people was met with rude smirks and, while our backs were turned to leave, a snarky remark that a "Costco slab cake" would be more appropriate.
It's a shame that you can't go into a business and decide that it's not for you without staff members/owners getting offended but why am I not surprised with the state of the world nowadays anyway.
The history of this location shows that bakeries do not last long. Best of luck breaking that trend if you continue this streak of poor...
Read moreI grab lunch from here on the regular. Their sandwiches are amazing. Fresh, home made and the perfect size. Of course I tell myself I am going just for lunch but usually leave with a couple baked goods. You can tell from the first bite that everything is homemade and with real ingredients. The owners are beyond kind and it’s always a great conversation. I’ve had the sandwiches, baked goods, soup and gelato. Each time I do a little happy dance when biting into anything I bring back to the office. It makes my soul happy, you can tell when someone puts themselves into their food and everytime I am never disappointed. Thank you for the fantastic food, baked goods to satisfy my sweet tooth and always making me feel welcome. It’s so special to have them so close...
