Heard a few people talk about this place and love finding new good eat spots so decided to give it a try. I ordered the Big Boi Chicken Sandwich which is 15$. I assumed for that price since it doesn't come with fries and the fact it's called the Big Boi that it would be a decent size sandwich and probably wouldn't need fries to not still be hungry anyways. It was a lot smaller then I was expecting. Chicken wise the breading was ok but nothing to write home about. The worst part actually was the chicken meat itself, it was stringy and really dry to eat. The bun and the toppings were average. Overall would give this Sandwich about a 4 out of 10 and didn't find it be overall that flavorful. Update: about a year later (April 2023) I decided to try a burger. I ordered a Homi which is a double paddy smash type burger at 10$ which for that price it's reasonable so no complaints there. I added fries with it for $5 which I had never had before so for 15$ plus taxes for a double burger and fries you can't usually go wrong. The burger. Pros: A decent size, the meat plenty juicy and the toppings, bun and sauce good. The Cons: The cheese used has that McDonalds/fast food taste cheese to it that kind of ruined it for me. The fries they use are that crispy type that a lot of restaurants are starting to use now which maybe it's just me but just not a fan of them at all. Taste like they have been soaked in oil for 2 days before they are deep fried and just don't have a good real fry taste.

I've been here 4 times and for the most part, it's an ok place. It's a popular spot in Bowmanville - literally the talk of the town - the big Boi and "sucio fries" were delicious the first time I tried it, however the last 2 times I came here I was disappointed as the food was not made consistently tasting good the same way. Furthermore, when I last ordered my sandwich the cashier gave it to the wrong customer, who left the store and when he came back she corrected it by just handing it to me without thinking I should make him a tasty fresh sandwich instead if something that was handled by another customer. I must say, it didn't feel good being handed food that was given to a customer who walked out the store, open the box, touched inside and then returned to the store so that it can just be thoughtlessly handed to me. The box wasn't even closed. Yes, when the bag was handed to me, the box was not properly closed. The sandwich did not taste as good as the first time, nor was it spicy like I ordered. I recommend you go to this place once to see what all the talk is about, but do not expect consistency in the quality if you want to patron often. Everybody wants to be on the wall. You can be anybody. And those somebody's become somebody one of these days.

If you’re looking for a spot that truly lives up to its name, Talk of the Town in Bowmanville is where you need to be! This was my first time visiting, and I left wondering why I hadn’t gone sooner. From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the interior—it’s modern, vibrant, and effortlessly cool. The ambiance alone sets the stage for a great meal, with details that make you want to stay and soak it all in. The star of the show? The food. I ordered with Mel, who was welcoming, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. Talk of the Town serves halal chicken and beef, which was a big plus for me, and let me tell you—they know how to cook! The food was seasoned to perfection, cooked just right, and came in portions that were incredibly filling. Every bite was bursting with flavor, leaving me completely satisfied but also wishing I had room for more! Whether you’re a foodie or just someone who appreciates good eats and a great vibe, this place is a must-visit. Big shoutout to the team at Talk of the Town—you’ve gained a loyal customer! I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

This was my second visit here and I was not too impressed this time around. First I will explain that this is an hour drive for me. I drove to Bowmanville on Sun Aug 14 with my mom to let her experience this amazing food for herself, I never stop talking about it. The food itself was amazing as always but, what we had issues with was the service. After driving over an hour, we got lost due to road closures, we arrived after 3pm. There was no one in the store but as soon as we got to the counter we were not even greeted just told to wait, one second, when the lady behind the counter was finished whatever she was doing she looked up and asked what we wanted to order, still no greeting....We ordered 2 chicken and waffles and a half dozen egg rolls, 2 of each filling. Someone from the back yelled out as we finished our order, no more mac n cheese and without even looking up at us the lady at the counter said no more mac n cheese egg rolls. I was a little confused and disappointed as they are my absolute favorite but ok so we went with 3 of each of what was left.... without looking up she said 20 to 30 mins and walked to the back...We were both in need of the restroom after the long drive but it was out of order so off we went to hunt for a restroom in the area but no luck, everything was closed. We came back for our food about 25 mins later and again no greeting or acknowledgement from the lady, she really did seem miserable and truly not what I am used to for this place. Anyways she glanced over, saw us, and started packing our food. We asked her for extra napkins which seemed to piss her off even more as she threw them in the bag. We grabbed the bag, thanked her and left. On the long drive home we decided to dive into the egg rolls. Well, to our surprise there were mac n cheese eggrolls included but because she didn't even mention a thing to us nor did whoever packed them put them together in the container I ended up eating both of them. Not a big deal sure but still disappointing when we both wanted to have one. Anyways I will still go back because I love the food I just truly hope I do not run into that same lady at the counter again or I may just walk out and...

I just finished eating my dinner from Talk of the Town. It was my third time buying food from this restaurant and I've now eaten multiple menu items.

I will get the hamburgers out of the way right away. They are fantastic. I have ordered the 'double homi', which is their two patty smash burger with cheese sauce onion and pickle, and thoroughly enjoyed each one. The onions and pickles are so tasty. The sauce tastes great as well.

Typically when I visit I also have ordered a side with my burgers. I have had the onion rings, tater tots, loaded fries and mac n cheese.

The onion rings I ordered weren't great. When we ate them at home they were over done. Spent a little too much time in the deep fryer. They were also very similar to onion rings I've had at many other restaurants. Nothing new.

The tater tots have been great. We have ordered them multiple times now. Talk of the Town could do us all a favor and include a dipping sauce for them.

The loaded fries were ok. Reminiscent of a Taco Bell fries supreme but not close enough to be a worthy contender.

The mac n cheese was a disappointment. Our first two visits the restaurant had posted that they were sold out of mac n cheese. On our third visit today we finally had a chance to try it. The texture was too pasty for us. Almost like everything was one. It had a fiesta seasoning of some sort. It didn't work for us.

Overall I am still content with my visits. The burgers are worth their price tag. I have enjoyed them so much I have neglected to try their chicken sandwich. Maybe on...
