One of the local coffee roasters that does the process in house, so you know you're getting the freshest beans available. The coffee is always spot on and this location has plenty of seating. It does get quite busy though so be prepared to enjoy your coffee to go. There are a couple of long communal tables intended for studying or working and it has a long electrical power bar to plug in devices or laptops. Overall this place is great place for their coffee and rivals other cafes.
However, there is one con about this place that's stopping me from coming regularly: the music tends to be really loud that you have to almost yell to talk to the person you're with. More often than not, I find this to be the case whenever I visit this Creekside location. If they can just turn down the volume a bit, it would make for a more pleasant coffee shop. I go to cafes about 3-4 times a week and frequent other ones nearby like JJ Bean, C Market, Timbertrain and even their original location on Barnet because the ambient noise and music volume is much more suitable for conversations, studying, and work. I visited this Creekside location today for a meeting with another person and the music was unfortunately blasting so loudly that we ended up leaving early and taking our coffee elsewhere.
If they could limit the volume of the in house music, they would be a 5 star place for me, but it's the one thing that stops me from being a regular, so I gotta...
Read moreWhat a cool coffee place! Can’t believe I never went here before - we always pass by this place whenever we go to the superstore - but let me tell you, it’s well worth the stop!
The coffee here is SO. GOOD. I got a Spanish latte and it was probably the best latte I’ve ever had. That’s not to downplay their baked goods - their scones taste so fresh and delicious. I think next time I’m going to try their cookie croissant (a whole chocolate chip cookie baked on top of a croissant). They have tons of different syrup flavours, and they offer many dairy free options.
There’s a section of the coffee shop which appears to be devoted to making coffee blends - big bags of different beans, various machines for grinding, steaming, mixing (no clue what they all do) and today there was a guy in there with his computer running what looked to be tests - they even have a little test kitchen!
I love the amount of work that it looks like they put into coffee with this little area. Also of note - they have human-sized teddy bears so that if you’re by yourself, you can still have someone to sit with :) they also have a scale replica of the coffee shop made entirely of Lego by the front entrance! The staff is always...
Read moreI visited this café this afternoon and was honestly quite disappointed. First of all, they have a tipping option on their payment machines, but they don’t offer any real service to justify it. You have to go and pick up your own order, carry everything to your table, and basically do everything yourself — which is fine in some places. But in our case, we had four drinks and four sides, and picking them all up with no tray or help meant going back and forth several times just to get everything to the table. If you’re not going to offer any service, it’s really not fair to prompt people for a tip. On top of that, the prices are really high for what you get. Their tuna sandwich was extremely basic and not worth the price. Same goes for the drinks and other items — everything felt overpriced and underwhelming. The staff weren’t friendly either, which just added to the overall unpleasant experience. If you’re reading this: you could easily grab a few plastic trays from Superstore( next door) and place them on your counter — it would make a big difference for your customers and show a bit more care in the experience...
