We often go to white spot with the kids, however we decided to go to White Spot for our anniversary brunch because I was craving sadly the hasbrowns and left quite disappointed. I ordered Nat's breakfast and asked for well done shredded hashbrowns and my husband ordered a burger with yam fries. We also saw the special with the blueberry pie but decided to order our preferred burger instead of the legendary burger and pay the price of adding the pie on the side of the entree. We also ordered a one peice of haddock fish on the side. We ended up getting over done yam fries and not well done hashbrowns. They gave new yam fries to my husband and also had my hashbrowns re done but I was nearly finished my meal before I got my hashbrowns back. I also received my easy over eggs over medium to hard eggs versus over easy but I decided not to ask for new ones as I was hungry and just wanted to eat at that point. The server was kind in taking care of the mistake during the meal, however when we got the bill they had charged us for ordering the full size fish and fries ( versus the one peice of fish) and the blueberry dessert (as if we didn't order an entree). When the manager was called in to address this, I was surprised in the way he talked to us. He said that you can't order the fish this way. We told him how we asked previous times and as a result had previously ordered in this way almost 10times with no issues in being charged different from adding one peice of fish to our entree. He said he would charge us as so this time but the way he said it to us was rude and definitely was not focused on creating happy customers. My thought are if a customer orders a peice of fish and we can't do that without ordering the entire entree, why would they not tell the customer that was the case because if they did, we would have not ordered a peice of fish for full entree price. We also showed him on the menu that it says $6 when you add to an entree and he gruntingly walked away saying that it's confusing. It was really poor customer service especially from a manager level. Truly disappointed with how we were made to feel for being overcharged. I have ordered the fish separately like this in multiple other white spots with no issues. At the end of the day, if a customer orders another entree and adds on something, the restaurant is still getting more money from the customer versus if we didn't add the fish?? The last straw was seeing our server talking about us and pointing us out to another coworker..... And when she saw me looking in that direction looked away right away. Just left a bag taste...
Read moreA group of 6 older adults myself included had dinner at this restaurant on Sat night 27th Feb 2022. I have not been to Whitespot for dinner in years and I would not do it again. My order was a veggie burger and salad. When the food came it was cold. I mentioned this to the server who offered to reheat it. Problem is by the time I would get it back everyone else will have finished their meal as they all arrived together, so I passed on this. After a couple of mouthfuls I felt it was meat not vegetarian. I asked several of my guests to try it and they felt the same. I mentioned this to the server who said she thought it was veggie but unsure. The salad was just some green leaves of some kind with no flavour. The meal was not worth $19.00. Anyhow I handed it over to her and said I am finished thank you eating it. She said the Manager would come over to our table to speak with us. I did not request this but ok. Another of my guests ordered chicken burger with Chipotle sauce. When she received her meal there was zero sauce and the chicken was very dry but she did not want to complain as I was having a problem already. When the manager came over he could not be sure the burger was veggie or meat so offered to cover the cost of a dessert. Ok, so I and another guest ordered the dessert. When the bill came He had subtracted the two desserts from the bill. The bill was divided into 3 parts as it was 3 couples. So my dessert was free it cost $7.49. The other guest dessert was the same cost. My veggie burger and salad was $18.99 which I paid for. How did it help me that the other guests whose meal was ok had their dessert subtracted d from the bill. I felt Whitespot should have covered the cost of my meal. I did not really want a dessert and if the meal had been good enough I would not...
Read moreNot a fan of this location! Maybe the cook was new - or sucks. Someone there doesn't care about the food they make.
Update: After reading similar reviews- obviously the owner, manager and head cook are to blame.
My friends brought me home a burger and fries. They ate in said their meals were fine. Mine wasn't! It wasn't a take out order either! I did get double fries - but it comes with endless fries - we could have had 4 take home boxes. I got 2.
The Bacon cheese burger? Worst Spot burger I ever had. McDonald's is better and I hate McDonald's.
Burger was bland. The patty was dry and overcooked. Much smaller than the pre-Covid ones - or burgers I had this year at White Spot gas station locations. Are you trimming them? Or using different patties than other Spots?
Lettuce was awful, slimey. I tossed it. Very tiny pickle, half the usual size. Scrimped on the condiments too. Plus ... they forgot my drink! Only thing good were the fries.
I won't waste money at this location.
I have dined at many White spots in Greater Vancouver for 3 decades. Regular of Byrne Rd, North Road , New West, North Vancouver, Vancouver, Surrey and Langley locations. the Chevron drive thru on Main St made the best burgers - until that cook left. Langley location (at the gas station off highway) is good. Surrey location is good. North Road is our group go to - on Pirate Pack day.
Not willing to go to the Coquitlam location unless that cook is gone. Plus management gets the kitchen up to...
