Patrons, please treat the workers nicer!
I don’t frequent Tim Hortons, nor do I understand the Tim Hortons obsession some folks have.
I learned today their drive thru is not very good. Poor line management in the drive through and inside. The workers looked stressed out.
Tim Hortons you could do better for flow of traffic. At minimum get painted lines on the ground so the drive thru line is not made up by customers. Have a larger area inside for guests waiting for their items. And GET A CHANGE TABLE for babies.
My in laws gave me a gift card for my birthday I had been holding onto for 6+ months cuz toms is not my thing. So I decided to use the gift card today, after grocery shopping with my 2 year old. Made a mobile order for pick up using the drive thru so I wouldn’t have to get the toddler out of the car. This is where all hell broke loose.
I drove to the edge of the parking lot, as if never been to this Tim’s before, and waited in line for the drive thru, I realized people had organically had the line extend through the middle aisle of the parking lot instead of the far side. (This makes minimal sence for car maneuvering because now you have to make a slightly sharp turn to get into the drive thru). So I backed up some to let the car in the middle asle go, and then I was going to drive past to make the turn to get in line. Unfortunately my toddler was constantly telling me she had gone to the bathroom and needed and change and an angry drive in the middle aisle made the assumption I was trying to go through the drive thru (I was not I was trying to drive past). So that angry driver cut me off to keep their place in line, this actually ended up giving me more space to turn into the middle aisle and then park so I could go in and change my toddlers diaper.
Then I found out there was no change table in the women’s, so there was no point checking the men’s (cuz sexism and all).
Now inside with a toddler still in their dirty diaper, I approached the counter to ask for my mobile order that I had said I was getting through the drive through.
The system must not be super easy to do this to cuz the worker made my drink for me and said the food would come out shortly. And then the very long excruciating wait started. My toddle was uncomfortable and tired, and the food never came.
I eventually gave up, left without my food to change my toddler in my car.
Some fundamental people management is needed Tim Hortons. Clearly defined lines for the drive thru and inside, a larger waiting area, and a family washroom (and accessible washroom). Your workers are burnt out, I would guess from the large menu and poor systemic people management. Much of this is correctable.
I am reminded today why Tim is not my thing, and will continue to not be a go to for me.
The sandwich was very tasty.
Thank you Tim Hortons staff, I wish you much luck. And I hope people are nice to you, cuz it’s...
Read moreUpdate Mar 29, 24. It's still a homeless haven. The first day I came back here after a long while and was greeted by 4 homeless camped out with shopping buggies and bikes right in front of the door. See picture of one of them setting up a propane tank!!!!!!
Update Oct 5;Three days in a row I was in the store each day at 7 am and had to witness the floor/window cleaning lady arguing with and abusing some of the homeless people who infect this location.
I asked to speak with the manager and was told She was at one of her other stores. I guess this place is too dangerous even for the manager so she leaves "security" up to the frail window cleaning lady.
Really sad way to run a store, for Gawds sake hire a rentacop to stand outside.
Previous Update: Still the Timmy's homeless shelter. Now they have moved to blocking the entrance with their possessions. See the picture, it's what I expect from this location, not seen anywhere else.
I have avoided this store since my last update but as I walked in first day back today at 7:30 am a three person line had the first person BEGGING for service! 8 minutes later I got a coffee but no where to sit again as that wonderfull mop lady had exactly half the tables reserved for her work. So annoying. It just helps drive away more walk in customers at this time of morning.
Past reviews below are still relevant.
Timmy's Homeless shelter! The manager thinks this is good for business? ....more....
Plainly, as seen by every person waiting in the drive through, and inside, there is a fellow, many mornings, who is allowed to sleep in the lounge area.
Seriously! Tim Hortons needs to speak to this manager and find this fellow an appropriate place to crash.
Please do something. .................................................................... My past posts below are still true:
For inside service this is without a doubt the worst Tim Horton's you will ever visit.
The slowest and the most useless inside staff In existence, any chain, anywhere!
You must speak slowly and only say one thing at a time until they enter that one thing. Then when asked say the next thing very very slowly and clearly while making eye contact say ...one....cream, and .....one sugar....
OH, and your order will still be wrong most of the time. And don't expect a sleeve for...
Read moreI never imagined in my wildest dreams that I'd ever give any Tim Horton's a 1-star review, but today is the day. Here it goes...
For the past 8 weeks I have been on a food elimination diet and have not been consuming any dairy or eggs during this time; therefore, no Tim Hortons bagel BELT's for me. However, today marked 8 weeks and I decided to try my luck on eggs so in the drive-thru, I ordered a bacon bagel BELT, no cheese, add mayo. I will also note that the drive-thru cashier was very unpleasant, but it didn't initially bother me as I don't usually blame fast food works for being unhappy. But, after driving a block away, I opened my bagel BELT to realize it was on a 4-cheese bagel. What a shame - I didn't want to go back, but I was left with no other choice. Upon speaking to the cashier at the ordering menu I was cut off after only saying, "Hi, I was just here and ordered a bagel BELT but got the wrong bagel...." by her responding with, "just drive ahead." I assumed at the window she would ask for clarity as to what I originally ordered. She did not and unhappily gave me a new sandwich - before taking it, I asked what it was because I had a very specific order. She was very annoyed and reluctantly took my new order. I took my new order and clarified that it was correct and she agreed. You'd think I learned the first time, but after driving a block away, I opened it to see they'd left out the mayo and I was left with a dry bagel BELT and a poor customer service experience. I just wanted to have my favourite food as my first egg sample in 8 weeks and I'm left feeling very disappointed.
In addition to that, the cashier did not use the tray to hand me my items, our hands touched twice and I do not feel as though they cared about any Covid protocols. During these times, I would hope they are not touching the hands of the 200 cars they serve each hour.
I would hope that management takes their customer service more seriously. This is a busy place and I am disappointed that the staff do not care enough to even have the slightest bit of customer service or to use a tray to pass items...
