Wing'n it — Restaurant in Deer Lake

It's Nacho night in out home every Friday - a somewhat family tradition. Tonight we are traveling for the long weekend. We ordered our nachos to go. Deer Lake, NL.

Disclaimer - we understand they won't be as fresh and will be ugly and soggy by the time we eat them. That is ok.

But this is not ok. Three adults not wanting a solo size and we ordered the regular size. None are "regular size". The middle which had less veggies was so tiny. We asked the waitress to bring it back - returned noting from the kitchen staff that "it just looks smaller because it has less veggies". It appears that maybe they take away nacho chips as well? The less veggies one we ordered with red pepper - missing - we paid extra for that. Mine - I'm a jalapeño lover - I ordered extra jalapeños- they added dill pickles. No not fresh Jalapeños- it was literally dill pickles.

Also upon arrival we paid extra to add 3 hot sauce with the order. Opened them all up and no sour cream (I paid for one extra =4), nor salsa. I had to ask her again to return for our sauces.

So by the time our fiasco was over, we indeed had soggy, ugly and super cold nachos... with barely any cheese to top.

I'm sad - however; I'm excited to get to our destination as I know where to find...

Very disappointing. Ok so might give a small pass because it was Friday night and busy but our experience was absolute nonsense!! Sooo.... Ordered "2 quads" waited for the call to pick up, which was offered by staff, -it never came. Went in anyway to pick up only to find our order had been given to someone else. (Btw - how stunned do you have to be to mix up 2 big platters of wings with a couple single dinners?? Price difference alone should have been a huge flag)! Next - apparently our order was being returned to restaurant which staff then offer to us?!?! Hello? No way! Finally they set to correct and remake original order and we have to wait an additional 45 minutes for it but of ourse still pay full price. Never got a "we are so sorry", "have a complimentary drink", no discount or gift card offered - nothing. Attitudes and customer service really need an overhaul here! Should ad that the wings we then did finally get were an obvious rush job all mixed together and sent in much smaller platters then before. Hope very much that other locations are not...

I’m giving 4 stars based on 2 days experiences. Day 1 we ordered chicken wings for take out. We love the unbreaded wings they taste really good! For those who are new here and don’t know what flavour to choose just like us, I highly recommend the wings sampler platter, we tried 4 flavours, my fav are airwing and sweet Baby Gezuz, I will definitely come back to try more flavours! On day 2 we were out late and looking for a place for a quick dinner. This time we ordered the duck wings, quesadillas and ribs. We asked for honey garlic and Mach 3 sauce on duck wings but ended up getting tariyaki sauce, which tastes good so not a big deal. But the quesadillas…it’s just weird to have a lot of green onion in quesadillas, and I mean A LOT. There were even more green onions than chicken…doesn’t seem fair to me. Good service on both days. Friendly and helpful. So if you are just looking for some nice chicken wings I’m sure this place won’t let you down. But I probably won’t try...
