Pho Saigon Restaurant — Restaurant in Delta

I've only had the vermicelli (rice spaghetti) with 3 massive deep-fried spring rolls on top (instead of a protein) + side salad + another plump deep-fried spring roll. So, I can't comment on the pho's broth, etc.

I like the side salad at the other Pho place in Ladner more, as the carrots have this sweet taste & are shredded more softly somehow. :S

But I like the deep-fried spring rolls here more. They're plumper, don't have taro in them, & they're not crispy. They have pork in them. They're 'greasier', I suppose? But since they're plumper, I reckon that they have more perceived value to them - which is good, because the vermicelli dish is a couple of dollars more than the other place in Ladner.

I can't comment on the dine-in experience, as I've only had take-out. But as I walked through to the cash till & back out, the floor and tables were clean, and the sauces were all filled up. The woman who helped me pay was pleasant and...

Was a restaurant I would have given four stars to - now three. This was a cute and unique little Vietnamese cafe. The food is good, as is the service. It was a nice place to come in - have some good food, talk and relax. They had a divider down the center of the room that was a pony wall with a faux thatched roof above it. It offered a sense of privacy when you were sitting beside it, and was also a noise barrier. They have now removed the thatched roof and lowered the pony wall, so that now there is no privacy at all, and there is no noise control. It just doesn’t feel the same. It’s now just a plain hole-in-the-wall cafe. Not that there’s anything wrong with a hole-in-the-wall cafe! Those can be great little restaurants. But this place has lost their uniqueness and coziness. Darn. It did need some updating, but I wish they’d found a way to still make make it seem comfortable, with a little more privacy at some of the tables,...

Enjoyed my meal here for lunch today. I ordered the House Pho and the popular dish with the vermicelli, spring roll, lemongrass chicken, the red meat, and spinach beef roll. It was all very delicious and they are very generous with their meat portion compared to other competitors I’ve been to in Vancouver. Friendly service and attentive.
