Yesterday I decided to walk through Edgemont Village at night to enjoy all the small businesses and streets lit up for Christmas. Absolutely stunning at night!
I stopped into Kokomo as it’s one of my favourite places to take out salads and other healthy meal options. I love their food, but I was absolutely blown away by the customer service I received by Harper who was working yesterday. We chatted for a bit and I was amazed at how knowledgeable she was about Kokomo and what an incredible ambassador she is for their brand. She has only been working there four months, but you’d think she’d been there for years. I was even more amazed to find out she was only 17 years old. Harper has a bright future at whatever she decides to do. I offered her a job in my business, so I’m hoping she’ll take me up on the offer!
My favourite dishes at Kokomo are the Chickpea Curry, Coastal Macro, Beet Poke Macro, Golden Laska Noodles and I love their Power Malt for breakfast. You can also get some items like the Chickpea Curry frozen. I always have a few of these in the freezer, as my husband loves their food too.
Kokomo offers a great product, a relaxing environment, and warm and friendly service. Harper, you are outstanding at customer service and my job offer stands anytime...
Read moreI have been a fan of Kokomo for a long time but a couple of weeks ago I had a negative experience. A customer came in with a dog, a staff member kneeled down to pet the dog and let it lick all of her fingers, and then she went and touched the lid of my smoothie to hand it to me, with no hand hygiene in between. I asked for a new lid and explained a severe allergy to an enzyme in dog saliva that would cause welts on my face and hands. Staff were quick to rectify it and instead of posting a public review, I reached out to management via email just asking for confirmation on the dog policy in stores, as it would shape future decision making. I was assured dogs weren't allowed unless it was a special circumstance.
Fast forward to today when I grab lunch and sit down inside. A few minutes later a woman walks in with a giant dog the staff fawn all over and I'm eating next to a dog's panting face. I had to get up and leave. This isn't a Canadian Tire. It's a food establishment. I'm not sure why a restaurant would allow dogs inside and why staff are interacting with the dogs. I'm upset I was led astray about the pet policy and will unfortunately have to be taking my loyal...
Read moreLOVE LOVE LOVE the shawarma wrap, it’s so delicious and has a perfectly well balanced flavour + texture profile. Also obsessed with their coco Açai smoothie, perfect for a hot summer day. You can definitely taste that the food is made with a lot of care and attention to detail. All very nourishing meals.
Their açai bowl is really delicious although I find it to be too small for how much it costs. I used to get it regularly over the winter from their Chinatown location and I noticed the size got smaller at some point which is honestly disappointing. The açai blend in the bowl also became way more liquidy; and although it’s still delicious I can’t help but to feel like it was watered down somehow and isn’t as filling as it used to be. I still get it because it’s delicious but I wish that they thickened it a bit so the consistency could be more dense and less soup like.
Overall though I really love this place and is a regular spot I like...
