The girl with glasses working the register on September 27th at 5:40pm got all aspects of my order wrong. They made me a small raspberry matcha when I had ordered a large. I think they ended up just adding more milk to it because it did not taste like matcha at all. I also ordered a breakfast sandwhich and she charged me and served me breakfast wrap instead. It was tasteless and just had gross, big chunks of ham in it. Bad service. Bland food and drinks and a loud, obnoxious environment.
Edit to add it was Sunday Sep.28th between 5:30-5:50 that the transaction was made. The cashier asked me 3 times what my drink order was. She kept leaving the till and coming back, giggling and forgetting my drink order. 3 times she asked me what I was getting and it was still made incorrectly. I asked for a breakfast sandwhich, she should have charged me for a breakfast sandwhich. It was annoying to constantly repeat that I wanted a large raspberry iced matcha, I didnât realize I had to triple confirm my food order as well. When I told the cashier that I ordered a large drink not a small she said âoh really?âthen I overheard her tell the other girl making the drinks to âjust put it into a larger cupâ. They did not remake my drink, Iâm sure they just added more milk to it. Honestly, based on the response from the owner I am confident that you do deserve the one star rating I gave. I was supposed to confirm that the cashier did her job correctly and charged me for what I asked for? Really? Learn how to take some accountability, and do not place blame on customers for the multiple mistakes your staff made. Look into training your staff to be more attentive and thorough. Also, I got the store correct, just the date wrong. That has been updated. I will not adjust my rating because youâre offering me a free large drink. I tried a drink, it tasted awful, the wrap tasted awful, the service was awful. Definitely a 1...
Read moreI stopped by this cafĂ© after my doctorâs appointment because the photos at the entrance caught my eye. I ordered the strawberry pistachio cheesecake with a matcha latte, and both were really good. The cafĂ© feels cozy and clean, which I appreciated.
The staff were nice, but hereâs my feedback: when I paid, the screen asked me to leave a tip, even though I still had to pick up my own drink, clear my tray, and put things away myself. Also, I only found out about the âbuy 9 coffees, get 1 freeâ card because I noticed it at the counter afterward, no one mentioned it.
As a customer, and also thinking like a business owner, small details like pointing out promotions or bringing the coffee to the table can make a big difference. Overall, I enjoyed the dessert and the atmosphere, but I think the service experience could be improved.
Response to the owner Thank you for your reply. I actually live in Canada for 14 years and am familiar with the cafĂ© culture here, so my comment wasnât about expecting full table service. What I meant was that, from a customerâs point of view, little touches like letting people know about promotions (for example, the coffee card) or acknowledging the tip screen go a long way in making the experience feel more thoughtful.
I also want to mention that your response came across as very dismissive and defensive, shifting my feedback to a discussion about culture and implying that Iâm not familiar with Canadian or Western cafĂ© practices. That felt off-topic, unnecessary, and reflected a lack of customer service. With this attitude, I donât think this cafĂ© is worth visiting again.
I really did enjoy the cake, the latte, and the cozy atmosphere, thatâs why I left the review. My feedback was just meant to share how small adjustments could make a good visit feel...
Read moreWashroom wasnât available and the little cake was way too sweet. The face on the hot chocolate was a cute touch. Nice atmosphere.
Update: I shouldnât have to explain myself but the ownerâs response was disrespectful so here it is: I tried to go to the washroom for what your staff stood right in front of it saying âitâs not available todayâ, no explanation. There was a sign saying âout of orderâ that had fallen on the ground so he put it back on the door. If your washroom is out of order please have the information available with a sign on the front door. By the time I tried to go I had already ordered.
I asked for the staff recommendation for a treat as I do in many places I go, I have a sweet tooth but this one was pure sugar and wasnât enjoyable at all.
I know the area well and love and support the small businesses around, with great options of baked goods and always a washroom available.
Iâm lowering the review as this is not the right way to go about it. I like to post my experiences as constructive critics for the managers/owners to see what can improve, sometimes I observe certain things that can be a dealbreaker for future customers that might never return and never say why. Knowing how to respond to unpleasant experiences is the key here and in this case you turned my experience from ânot so ok but I should try againâ to âIâm never returning and not recommending this spotâ. This couldâve been a private email conversation with details but one was never made available to me for more comments. Wishing you...
