Very disappointed. Slow service (because there was only 1 person working), tables were filthy, and the bathroom was disgusting. 1 tiny lightbulb tried to illuminate the small room, and it couldn't disguise the fact that it was very dirty and in need of major repairs. The only reason I'm not giving 1-star is because the bagel itself was pretty good.

This little First Nations shop was a delight! It was my first time trying bannock - yum! I bought tea that they make there also. I’m drinking the ladies health tea right now. There’s also respect and truth. I’ll try them both tomorrow. Gotta check this place out when you’re in Duncan area.

Wonderful and spacious place with an excellent selection of treats! Had a delicious carrot cake and espresso in their air conditioned dining room.

The girl serving us had no knowledge of what they had, told us there were no spanakopitas, when there was, they looked completely different from the chicken ones. They were out of the chowder. They had to microwave the vegetarian chilli, I asked for the shrimp on a bagel, and the OWNER pulled the shrimp out of the fridge, took the lid off, pulled her mask down and SMELLED the shrimp right infront of me and my mum to check if it was still good. I asked for salt and pepper and they gave us shakers with sticky fingerprints all over them. The spanakopitas were served cold even after being microwaved, they were extremely bland and the pastry was not utilised properly so it was hard to chew. The plates were dirty, the tables were dirty, and when we came in the music was like metal music. VERY dissapointed. Been coming here for over ten years and the place has gone completely downhill. Needs new management and staff experiences in...

I've been coming to Island Bagel for my lunch as I work in downtown Duncan since October 2020 but I find that since it's gone under new management, it's gone downhill. The salad quality has turned for the worse - Curry Chicken has hardly any chicken but rather is filled with red onions, peppers and other veggies. I know it's a bagel place but I've always enjoyed their salads until recently. I've also had a day where I grabbed a drink from the cooler and placed it on the counter and was completely ignored. I believe it was the new manager that was on the floor with a contractor fiddling with one of the coolers and there was no one else around. I had to walk out after 5 mins as I don't have time to stand around waiting to be helped. If you are busy, maybe close for a few minutes instead of having your customers waste their precious lunch time. I still go once in a while but my loyalty...

I love this place however, before COVID it changed owners and previous owners had the sandwiches fully loaded and excellent which to me justified the price of how expensive this place is. $10 for a chicken salad sandwich is a bit much but you always were stuffed because they were huge. NOW with the new owners I get maybe 3 chunks of chicken and the bagels have even gotten smaller to boot. Plus they upped the prices as well. I have no problem paying more for a fully loaded sandwich especially in a post COVID world, it's expected. But to pay more for less food that's...
