Alley Kat Brewing Company — Restaurant in Edmonton

So for those who don't know... This is still a family owned and operated microbrewery in its finest! The staff are nice. They don't have the budget to give out umbrellas or merchandise to bars because the money gets funneled back in. They don't have a kitchen; rather they encourage you to order skip so they can redouble efforts on beer. A quick aside. My friends car broke down at the main intersection nearby the brewery, and we were waiting on the sidewalk waiting for a tow. Amber (one of the best people/employees) kindly stopped to ask if we had help on the way, and upon learning the tow would be a ways away, reopened the closed storefront so we didn't have to wait outside and hosted us in a time of need. We were at the Brewery today and I must say I was so very disappointed but the unfriendly staff. The area was full of fruit flies and not very inviting. It was our first time at this brewery and I will never go back. The staff was very unpleasant to be around. She was rude and a condescending tone. She gave us a sample of 2 kinds of IPA beers. One of which she did say was only sold in bottles. The other we wanted our growler filled with and then she in a rude manner, said no I can’t do that. It was just a test batch. Why didn’t you tell us that when you gave us the sample. I did leave with a growler full of one beer and I already wish I never had as the sour taste the staff left in my mouth and the uninviting tap room makes me wish I didn’t...

On week days. The service is excellent. Had a long relation with Alley Kat for last ten years. On week the female at the tap and service desk gets panic on seeing lot of customer. Lacks communication skills and pleasing approach. She single handedly can’t manage the crowd. She does the tap filling, cash counter, and commercial retail sales alone. A person alone can’t manage such a big crowd in a favourite place. She gets tensed and pensive on seeing all the customers lined up. Very much not approachable and rigid in attitude.
