As this is my first visit, I would like to provide a detailed review based on my dining experience. While I am not particularly familiar with Persian or Middle Eastern cuisine, I will strive to offer an objective assessment.
The meal included rice, salad, meat, French fries, and side dishes, which could consist of garlic, hummus, or grilled tomatoes.
The presentation of the rice was commendable; however, in comparison to other Middle Eastern restaurants I have visited, it was somewhat drier.
The salad could benefit from an improvement in its dressing. I ordered an additional portion of salad, which was quite similar to the one served with the main dish. If I am not mistaken, it is dressed with roasted sesame cream sauce, which does not complement the dish well. The richness of the rice and meat can be overwhelming, so a dressing with a refreshing, tangy flavor would be more appropriate to balance the meal. The roasted sesame provides a creamy texture that can feel greasy, and its pungent taste may not appeal to everyone. I recommend incorporating traditional seasonings such as lemon, sugar, and salt to enhance this important side dish.
The grilled meat was delightful—rich and tender. I had the chicken, while my partner enjoyed the beef and lamb. I particularly appreciated the marinade used for the meat.
While dining at the table, I would have preferred the hummus to be served on a plate rather than in a small plastic tray. The portion of hummus was somewhat small; if feasible, doubling the amount would enhance the dining experience.
I do not have a preference for garlic cream, so I cannot comment on that side dish.
Overall, the pricing is quite reasonable for the portion sizes. However, I may not return, as I feel that the unique flavors of the dishes may not align with my personal taste preferences. Perhaps the salad dressing and rice flavor, while distinctive to the restaurant, do not cater to my palate.
In the future, I may reconsider visiting if there are new creative flavor options introduced.

Read moreAs a self described Persophile, I had my reservations in coming here since the spelling "kebab" (instead of "kabob") is used in the name of this establishment. Upon my arrival I noticed that the windows advertise "donairs" and "shawarmas" which are most assuredly not foods you would find in Iran or associate with the Caspian Sea region (and yes, I have travelled to the Caspian Sea region, all the way from Astara to Mazandaran). The menus mention "ayran" instead of "doogh" (good grief...) and a homemade option isn't available. The non-alcoholic beer isn't Istak (you know, an actual Iranian drink). The fesenjoon wasn't anything to write home about (I can make better fesenjoon at home, and I'm only 6% Persian at most), and if it was from the Caspian Sea region it would be sour, not sweet (sweet fesenjoon is associated with the south of Iran, not the Caspian Sea region). The server (based on her accent and appearance) is clearly originally from Iran (not Turkey) and spoke Farsi, but that IMO isn't a bonified requirement for a "Persian" restaurant - it's about the food and I always find the conflation of Iranian/Turkish/Arab cuisines troubling in "Persian" restaurants -- I'd have similar concerns if a restaurant claiming to serve "Canadian cuisine" had items such as chicken and waffles or shrimp and grits on the menu (we're NOT the 51st state). Food was adequate, but I was troubled by the lack of authenticity in this...
Read moreI recently dined at Caspoan Kebabs, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home.
The star of the meal was, without a doubt, the kebabs. The Chengeh kebab was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and grilled to perfection, while the Barg kebab melted in my mouth with its tender, flavorful marinated beef. Each bite was a burst of authentic Persian flavors that left me craving more.
I also tried the Jojeh, the crispy golden crust of the rice, which was a revelation—crispy, buttery, and utterly addictive. The Ghormeh Sabzi was another standout, with its rich, herbaceous stew that paired beautifully with the saffron-infused rice.
To top it all off, the service was exceptional. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing their cuisine. They even took the time to explain the dishes and offer recommendations.
If you’re looking for an authentic Persian dining experience with incredible kebabs and a warm, welcoming vibe,Caspian Kebabs is a must-visit. I can’t...
